I thought we had this discussion once. The game is called Europa Universalis for a reason. South East Asia, Native America, Bufuu Egypt! What the actual ? All the while Europe is a hot, steaming mess! Is there really an excess of manpower for SEA and minor tweaks to the nether-lands! Has all the content for central Europe, especially Iberia been exhausted. Why work on the western indies when the colonisers are mediocre. Colonising is nowhere near the resource it could be and now AI natives get random tools to mess up history. Is there any word from the right path of patching Europe up? Not that the open beta leaves much to be expected.

We just got a whole expansion dedicated to Europe.

European nation still have an advantage over non European nation's, and with the last expansion countries like Austria, Hungary, and Bohemia are some of the strongest starts in th game.

The Ottomans actually fail quite a bit more now.

SE Asia has never been given an expansion or major update.

I prefer that the whole world receives updates - but the name of the game seems indeed a little limiting. Maybe something like Terra Universalis would have been better (since there's lots of other interesting areas to play in besides europe)

The game is named as such because it's supposed to model the time perioud where europe (Europa) went from a backwater to global dominance (Universalis).

My main issue is that paradox adds new provinces but has so far made no attempt at balancing nations around the extra provinces. Just makes the game slower and creates denser blobs that are harder to conquer. I have no problem with other regions recieving updates but I have a new rig (Ryzen 5 3600 and a Radeon RX 5700) and the game has become noticeably slower, makes me afraid that they'll add another 300 provinces on the next patch and degrade performance even further. Tech spread is also excessive.

That's a small upside I will admit, but in India you still habe Basra and (even after the nerf) Persia as pseudo end-nodes. And more lategame you can go to Constantinople or even Venice.

True. But you'll only have to dev-push 3 institutions, and with the boatload of money Indian countries have they can easily afford better advisors earlier and thus compensate for the MP losses.

Meanwhile India has higher worth provinces that are vastly cheaper to take.

And that reason is because it's based on the boardgame "Europa Universalis", by Philippe Thibaut. Not because it's about Europe only.
