Whats Better?

Lets assume that as Germany I want to have around 15 Panzer divisions by 1939 for Danzig or war. I also want most of them to be level III medium armor preferably with SPA.

I used to rush the required tank techs and start a X3-X4 production run in 1938 using whatever techs I had researched. Lately in a few games I have been starting a single production line in 1936 of Panzer I, and use the extra IC gained later in the game to upgrade them. Most of them will be fully upgraded by 1939 and I'll have about 15-16 Panzers most with SPA. Even if not fully upgraded they are still effective enough on the ground.

You´ll lose IC output in the process, esp. if you upgrade whenever a new model is available. But if you really want to have that many ARM divisions available in 1939 it´s the only way, if you havn´t increased your base IC before (you were busy producing tanks, remember? )

It is better starting the serial run at the start of the game, because the cost to upgrade gets less and less each lvl of tech.

Eg: You have a lvl2 ARM and you are upgrading it. When you are at lvl 3 tech the time to upgrade is the normal 100%. When you reserach ARM lvl4 though, the time to go from lvl2 to lvl3 ARM, is now 50%. But to go from lvl3 to lvl4 it is the normal 100% cost.

Don't know if its best but a long serial from the start is my plan. Man , thats enough armor for the whole game . Poland only needs a few ARM and some MOT but with that much go straight to France in '39. What is the record for Poland and then Vichy ?

I've heard the record for Poland is 8 hours. I noramlly have it defeated by day 5, and annexed by day 7-8. Evenbefore the annexation my army is moving west for a late September French invasion. The early tank run also allows for alot of IC whoring at the start of the game.

I prefer the run starting in 1936 as well, that way you should never need to have more than one armor production run going at once.

You need to mark the armor, do not upgrade, until you have researched all the levels you need. You have to do multiple upgrades in one shot in order to get the discount.
