Other then the Aztecs(and those bordering them), and the Incas(those bordering them as well) there should be no nations in the Americas. All other American 'nations' were the equivalent of the first Stone Age Messopotamian (sp?) farming societies. This also applies to all 'nations' in Africa (excepting, MAYBE, the songhai).

Furthermore the nations of europe, the middleeast, and the far east shouldnt need a Casus Belli to wage war against primitive pagan peoples abroad.

As mentioned, this has gone on back and forth several times. I think there is at least one mod going around that removes most of these nations and replaces them with simple "natives".

Although the Iroquois Confederacy was quite organized and should probably be included as a nation.

I would have to agree that some of the "nations" in the game represent groups of people that were hardly organized as a real nation. Some of these, I would be in favor of just making provinces native settlements with a lot of natives with high agressiveness or something along those lines. But to think of the Dakota or whatever having cities and a central governing power (however "decentralized" their DP settings might be) is kinda pushing it a bit...

Well regardless of your opinions on my first idea, the second idea NEEDS to be implemented.

Treaty of Torsdeslles. It gives Spain and Portugal a great mass of CB shields against provinces, no matter if they are owned by natives, England or China.

I know I spelled ToT wrong. I dont care either.:D

Ok, this myth has to be dispelled right now. The shields granted by the TOT only appear in the colonization screen for a very important reason: they are not CB shields.

They grant the owner of the shields the ability to take those provinces from whatever other catholic nation owns them without a DOW. For example, Spain may take away an English trading post Curacao IF England is still Catholic, and do so without DOW. The AI, being somewhat slow on the uptake, does not make use of this very often.

Spain's CBs come from a special attribute Spain has. Spain gets CB against all Muslim and pagan nations. When Spain goes counter-reformed Catholic, she gets CB against all Protestant and Reformed Christians. This is how Spain gets all those CBs. You will note Portugal does not get the CBs on pagans, even though Portugal has TOT shields on Benin, Ashanti, and Dahomey provinces.

This is why Spain never loses stability for DOWing the pagans, and also why other Europeans do. Now, whether or not Europeans should be losing stability for DOWs against pagans at all is a different discussion for a different time...

BiB... I had never heard that myth either :)

Those are just the ones they start with ... Spain has quite a few nice perks like the CBs and ToT :D
