What Zhili culture in Ming is ????

After the 1.9 patch,there is a culture named Zhili in the Chinese culture group .

BUT !!!!

In Chinses ,Zhili(直隶) means these provinces is under the controll of the central government directly ! Zhi(直) means "Direct" and Li(隶） means "be controlled by" !

It can't be a culture ! It's name just indicate the status of these provinces !

Well, the French culture is called "Cosmopolitaine", which basically means the culture of the "cosmopolis" (= big city, i.e., Paris).

Naming the "standard northern Chinese" culture Zhili is a bit weird. But it's nothing worth cursing.

Don't mix the etymology of a word and the meaning of a word anyways. Zhili meant direct rule but its modern meaning is basically Hebei+Beijing+Tianjin.

Similarly, France means the land of Franks, Germany means the land of neighbors while Deutschland means the land of people. Does it matter? No.

Germany means the land of neighbors while Deutschland means the land of people.

Deutschland originates from a word that meant "of the people" in Old High German, but Germany comes from latin Germania which does not mean anything but Germania. It may have had a gaulic origin, but the Romans didn't really cared about the northern barbarian tribes. The just called them all Germans to keep things simple.
