What You Think That We Will See In The Next Species Pack?

I'd like to see some enigmatic portraits. Mysterious stuff that doesn't give very much away about what a species is.

Basically, I want this but with a completely obscured visor.

What do I hope is in the next Species Pack?

Accessories

- Visible cyborg augments for all vanilla and DLC portraits
- Visible psionic indicators (glowing eyes, glowing halos, levitating accessories, etc.)
- Clothing and accessories for specific jobs & stratum -- e.g. slave collars, lab coats, agricultural implements, maid uniform, etc.

- HATS. Give me the ability to distinguish sub-species by their hats. Let me have a planet of all-one-hat-wearing Primitive Humans who are definitely aliens (because of their hats) but are also biologically human.

- Climate-based coloration for aliens with color-variant phenotypes. "Winter" shades for Cold planets, "Summers" shades for Dry planets, and any leftover natural colors for "Wet" planets. (Special weird colors for Tomb preference.)

- Climate-based accessory coloration for species without colorful phenotypes (e.g. humans)

- Robot portrait with a monitor that displays an organic species portrait's face. This should be one choice for Synth Ascension -- you get to "keep" your old biological portrait, as your Synth's virtual avatar.

Dude omg yes. I'm so tired of these bog standard clone portraits. The hats things is w/e I honestly don't care about the old Hat Trope and could go without it. But the rest? Cybernetic pieces? Glowing Psionic eyes? Dynamic clothing that changes based on various situations like climate? Yes to all of that.

But given that all that probably isn't going to happen due to "work load" that would require.

I will settle for non corporeal entities, Plasmoids, Gas, Energy, sentient liquid, sentient dirt, ARMAS, aliens that are wholly enigmatic and can only see silhouettes or better yet a totally new, never before seen alien trope that the devs brainstorm together instead of just relying on old, pre-existing sci fi tropes!

I will also settle for (not really) literal Fruit aliens...for the memes.

(This channel is canon btw.)

I like this a lot. It has always bothered me that the existing portraits don't include things like armor (there's a couple of examples), helmets etc.

I think it's time for a story pack to spam the new flashy condition system. The last we had was antient relic which was released THREE YEARS AGO. Come on.

Actually that's unfortunately to you, since Stellaris is a very, very silly game.
It's one thing for a few anomaly rewards and flavour texts to have a less serious side, but if every other empire I encounter in game is a Cutie wearing a "maid uniform" I will probably find something else to do with my time.

Yea Maid Uniforms are a no go for me as well. That's just approaching the weird Weeaboo stuff that floods the Steam workshop. But different outfits is a must. Like, if your pops are on a planet with low hospitality, have their portraits be wearing like EV suits to showcase they need assistance to survive the environment. or something like that. In addition I feel like Generals should go from parade fatigues to suits of armor once war is declared, stuff like that.

Maid uniforms would be job-specific for Domestic Servitude slaves & Domestic Protocols droids.

You wouldn't find a species of maids.

You all know the drill: we have a new DLC, a small pause and some time later, a new Species Pack. Rinse and repeat.

Now, what species did you think will figure at the enxt Species Pack? Energy beings? or will Paradox return to old Species Pacxk and bring us new portraits? I really want to see that blue girl shown in one of the Federations trailers.

And you? what you think?
I'd have thought it would be a story pack, not a species pack?

We know it'll come in a patch with modified fleet combat and relic stats (summer tests pending) - And culture workers are returning.

I'd personally like to see them focus on primitives,
  • convert some old chains to situations,
  • add some new primitive situations
  • and have a path for them to evolve in to something like civ v+'s city states -
    • essentially piggybacking on the new vassal system, with some new specialist vassals that can only be a valid pick if they were uplifted/enlightened or whatever.
Im becoming a bit uninterested in the portraits within species packs if I'm honest. We've got so many portrait sets now, and whilst variety's nice, they virtually all (with a few exceptions) play like interchangeable biological species.

The real meat, for me, is in the traits and civics those packs add that vary gameplay. If they had a pack which was nothing but
  1. interesting/situationally powerful, or conditional, phenotype-specific (a la lithoid) traits
    • -- off topic but species traits need an overhaul imo to stay relevant further in to the game, in the ocean of similar modifiers we now have Vs earlier builds.
  2. some more civics that swap out or mutate existing jobs (random example, a civic based around a 4th type of refinery, each refiner increasing job output of non-refiner jobs but reducing colony habitability and consuming all 3 strategic resources),
then I'd be totally fine with that as a small pack.

I'm sorry man, I just can't be doing a damn Maid Outfit. It's the bridge too far. Might as well change the game's name to "Senpai Waifu Simulator". I can accept Space Storm Snukki, I can accept goofy ass "all aliens look human" tropes because old sci fi had no money for costumes and ppl keep doing it because "thats how old shit did it" even though I wish they would. I can accept a senior scientist pulling a
iu

and just pushing a big red shiny button because meme. I can accept the idiotic "always a bigger planet killing superweapon" trope from Star Wars we've gotten recently. I can accept a lot of things sir....BUT THIS!?

LOOK AT IT! THE SHEER HERESY! IT'S AN ABOMINATION! It's so VILE I might get BANNED FOR PORNOGRAPHY!

THE LINE MUST BE DRAWN HERE! THIS FAR NO FURTHER! The damn Weeaboos SHALL NOT CLAIM THIS FANDOM!

energy-based species, gas-based lifeforms or anything with biological ships would be amazing, especially the later
give me tumour ships or give me death!

Plasma/gas/particle-based sounds pretty good to me!

What I would also really like to see is different scales of beeings! Space fairies or giants would be really cool. Not really necessarily worth an entire species-pack but....

I like that idea. Give me top-hatted rabbits and then I'll seek out the primitive human species - that'll confound them no end!

And I'm still waiting for the Miniature Giant Space Hamsters. Go for the eyes, Boo!

And let's not forget about sexual dimorphism! It's boring when males and females of a non-humanoid species look all the same.

Really hoping a story pack next. For next species pack though... Saurians! Get those dinosaurs in the game.

That. I want to RP the little guy in this image: https://www.deviantart.com/monopteryx/art/Dinosauroid-v-3-391221988

The guy is literally the dino version of the Asgard.

DEATH TO ALL BLORGS!!!! Be they using lab coat or a maid outfit!
