The way the AI works there are no vassals who aren't part of a faction. With the current system the liege is always on his own.

I disagree with you here. It is all about how well liked your ruler is. I'm currently playing a game where I started as count in Ireland moved on to form britannia. The ruler that formed Britannia was so well liked that there where only 7 factions, each with only a single member in it. Then he died. His son took over and then the factions just exploded in strenght and numbers. That seems as how it should be to me.

A nice long living king has no or few faction problems while the new untried and hated king have great problems holding the country together until he have established his rule and improved his relations.

-More reasons to go to war instead of just "claim this county". There are a BILLION reasons why i want to go to war. Frankly, the medieval ages were full of wars that were...just for the sake of killing the enemy population off (genocide). And wars just.. because the one duke/king got pissed at this other duke/king and decided to fight it out.

Some of the CBs from Vic2 would be nice in this case, such as the one for asserting superiority (I forget the name) where you just gain prestige for winning but there is no change of territory. Also, some sort of insult CB in the same vein.

Faction rebalancing (as discussed in this thread and many others); no free troops teleported straight in from outer-space for example, or at least a reasonable cap on how many.

Baqt modelled in some way to make playing in Nubia possible without losing hair (or heir) nor resorting to cheats and/or 'gamey/exploit' tactics. Also, tech issues corrected, as they start with ZERO techs which is very wrong especially regarding building tech (see Nubian pyramids for example).

No double Jihads from Sunni and Shia, only one Jihad at the same time.

Balance the Fatimids to be more realistic, such as the Caliph NOT being a perfect ruler, them having issues with religious conflict between rulers and populations (province religion conflict), and not to instantly DoW Nubia 95% of the time within the first year - see Baqt above.

Mercenaries such as Ethiopian and Malian tribal groups made up of light infantry and archers for the Southern African regions and cultures.

Plus many of what has already been mentioned gets a +1 from me.

It is all about how well liked your ruler is.

Thats the biggest problem in ck2.

There needs to be a second value, maybe a dynasty reputation or something.

His son took over and then the factions just exploded in strenght and numbers. That seems as how it should be to me.

Everytime a ruler dies a civil should break out? The counts and dukes of the kingdom suddenly want to be free, don't even try to get along with his heir or influence him?
In eu3 there is a decision "Introduce heir" - something similar is needed in ck2. I can't believe a 100 relation friend of the king suddently hates his heir.

What I want to see in 1.08 is buildings that can be destroyed through war, sieges and events. Now everything gets more and more developed as the game proceeds. A little uncertainty would liven things up quite nicely.

Make decadence for islamic rulers more punishing, harder to get rid off and easier to accumulate. When the desert tribes do roll in, have a realm splinter instead of just replacing the ruling dynasty. It's more balanced game wise and even more historical.

Rebels now are rather boring. Make a player take notice by giving rebels a chance to burn down buildings, have succesfull rebellions given a % chance to spread to neighbouring provinces and add the possibility that a succesfull rebellion either starts a new independent republic, a new independent county/duchy or even spawn a possible pretender all set to take the crown. Also look at the rebels in for instance EUIII with their goals and think of ways to implement this into CKII. Rebellions now are an untapped vessel of possibility and deserves more attention.

Traveling the sea was dangerous in the middle ages. Why not add a chance for your fleet to fall victim to a storm? It would bring some life and excitement to the dull process of moving troops oversea. Naval warfare would also be very nice to make an entry here.

Herecies could use a little more attention. The potential is there to have heaps of fun with them. Crusades, inquisition, bringing down a faith from within, massive religious wars. As is, they are a bit stale.

More plots, decisions and ambitions. As always. Look at mods like CKIIplus to see how much life and personality these bring to the game.

And again, as always, more events. More events is good. Everyone loves events.

There certainly is. High crown authority and the desire for independence are also factors in vassals' decision to rebel.

Everytime a ruler dies a civil should break out? The counts and dukes of the kingdom suddenly want to be free, don't even try to get along with his heir or influence him?

No, every time a ruler dies, their successor should take some time to smooth things over.
Introduce heir would be interesting. In game you could do something similar, like handing over a duchy so that the heir would cultivate some good relations with vassals, but it's not quite the same, nor is it quite as effective. Rather, I think that councilors and regents should get a bonus for transitioning onto the throne. If my heir is steward or has been tending to the nation in my sickness, then vassals should accept him a little more readily. Not too much, of course.

And remember that the relations scoring is not necessarily indicative of personal likes and dislikes. A vassal may think a new ruler is a fine chap, but still hopes to take advantage of their inexperience and lack of political connections.

As always, a real Black Death event, where the game pops are knocked back by 30-60% but not the populations. Also, a masque of the red death dark comedy event, or a decimation of your dynasty would be great. This all seems pretty easy to mod.

- Tooltip on a prisoner could show how long someone has been imprisoned, by whom, and for what reason. e.g. plotting, liege is tyrant etc.

-When right clicking a character portrait until the character relations screen is shown, should be able to sort by opinion properly.

-When selecting a character as a person of interest it should have a pop up warning if they or their spouse fall pregnant and again when they have a child.

-I recently was granted rightful imprisonment against my wife because she acted dishonourable against me. There was no way (that I could find) to inform me of what she had actually done and with whom. Perhaps it was my spymaster and he was all ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ but I'm not sure.

Ok my wishlist for 1.08

The Papal Election and a Collegue of Cardinals would be a nice Start , possibly combined with a big event and units - DLC for HRE, France, Spain or England .. good Old Europe could be somewhat refreshed.

I like the idea of the Black Plague very well, I could imagine here including some events (troop reduction, financial losses ... special button / action / option for the Council priest ..).The Middle Ages was also ultimately very pest infested...

The faction system needs it necessarily a refinement, with vassals of +70 opinion points(or lower..) are clear on our site and do not want independence, or an other ruler. It should also limit the number of accessions: a vassal, who is fighting for the independence; that does not support change of rulers...illogical or just very intriguing.

The Fatimids and Seljuks are too strong for me, here I would welcome a small fix.

And finally: integrate the Jewish

I would want to see the Kingdom of Pomerania no longer requiring the player to be pagan, or some other tweaks to make it agreeable that the character should be pagan. As it is De Jure part of HRE, which if I remember correctly is VERY christian, thus if you are part of HRE and you want to create the Kingdom you would have to be independent. I tried converting to pagan to make the kingdom, but the emperor started to take away my titles one after another.

A bit more basic, but I'd like to see some UI changes, specifically regarding the character finder. I would like a filter to search for character that will accept an invite to court and a trait finder as in target a specific trait and only look for characters with that trait.

Additionally I'd like to see a filters involving:
Marriage status (Normal or Matrilineal) for those married of course
Succession status (whether they're in line to inherit anything)
Claim status (whether they have any strong or weak claims)
as well as a filter that can be used to filter out characters who have a spouse who's already a ruler.

Additionally when I use the no ruler filter I'd really like it to filter out bishops and mayors which sometimes pop up when using the search all function.

The ruler designer needs a rework. For one thing, it doesn't keep the look/outfits of the people you create properly when entering the game. For another, when opting to start married, you spouse at the very least shouldn't be celibate.

What I would really like to see is the spread out levy raising brought back. Only have it "count" the opinion of your direct vassal, but have the levies show up like they did prior to LoR. Would also really like the nobles to lead their levies again. Instead of hoping I didn't forget to put someone in every leader slot again.

My other biggie is to please have something done about retinues and their generals. Way to easy to end up with court "bloat."

As one last bit... Retinues shouldn't be free once they are capped. Maybe have them be a lot cheaper than mercs but it seems odd to me that I can have thousands of troops hovering at my future victim's border and it not costing me anything.
