To be honest; I think Scotland looks great in red :p
Sorry I'll be quiet :D

I personally would love union countries flags to be based upon the nation which formed it. Ie form Italian as Venice instead of the historical Sardinia-Piedmont, then the flag should represent the Lion of St Mark. Or if Scotland forms GB then the instead of the cross of St. George being the centre piece - St. Andrew's Cross should be.

Haha, so do I! But until we inherit your England I don't want to be that grotty shade of yellow ;)

Hehe I should of clarified I meant English red not British red :p. But yeah I do dislike the Scottish colour too. It would be quite cool if Scotland formed GB, its colour went a deeper blue with the Scottish dominant flag... Would then be Bluecoats... Then the Americans would have to be in red!! Ah crazy.

That's a really great idea. Since you change history... but there might be too many combinations still. Scotland might not conquer the Brittish Isles, but from its french support and RM you get to inherit France and form that nation. No more "tricolore"? Hmm... Its still worth trying, especially if you get to choose what way you want to go.

In EU4, I hope the map is more accurate. Both geographically and political divisions were off and not by a little, by a lot. And there are minor stuff in CK2 that really make it a very in depth game, this is why I hoped they remake EU4, whatever they did great in CK2, I hope to see in EU4.

More historical guidance to have nations do what they do historically while still allowing them to do what they want (Frankly, sounds like this is already in the works, so yeay to that.)

More options for "alternate history" nations like Granada, Ireland, or an England that has taken over half of France that now has to be more involved in the Continent and thus changes the dynamic for the region.

Easter Eggs. C'Mon devs, hide your initials on a coastline somewhere, or make one of the advisors look like you. Also fun things, like on xmas, your king puts on a santa hat or something.

A scenario editor. PLEASE! Simple clicks to create a base for our scenarios. Something "Paradox Approved" and even if it is DLC with a pricetag, something that has technical support.

Faster Fast. Allow us to tone down the graphical interface as much as possible (IE political mapmode makes trees vanish or whatever) so that our games, when set for "Fast" go "Faster". I want my game to run like a jet engine, let me skip from 1450 to 1550 in no time flat.

More music. Better music too, EU III music is great, don't get me wrong, I think it's amazing, but damn it I'm greedy, blow my BLEEPing mind. Lets all be honest, when we heard Civ IV's Baba Yetu, we all had chils, and we still get them all these years later. I want that and more!

Modability out the wazoo. Let us make 2 HRE's if we want to and a Papacy for each religion. Maybe I want each country to have factions, some have 2, some have 20, and others change between the two.

Keep all the great features a lot of the other posters want to eliminate like balanced gameplay designed provinces, wasteland, hard missions, no "Making things like CK or Vic" just make them great!

No more ping pong! If I want ping pong I'll play ping pong. This is the most annoying aspect of the entire game really! Make an army unable to retreat to a province it's retreated from within the past little while.

A game for the ages. EU III lasted quite a while, and so have many other big titles, and part of the reason is there has not been much in the way of "revolutionary" change to strategy games during this period. Make EU IV like Sim City IV, make it last for a decade if it needs to (by allowing it to be extremely modable to players and developers) and don't make an EU V until there is a reason to update the series.

Less dependence on continents. As it stands, if you are in Europe, you suffer similar drawbacks to provinces you own in Morocco, Egypt, and Natal. Change that so that "nearby" areas of other continents don't punish you as much as "Far" regions of those continents. IE if the region is on the 'edge' of a continent, it is considered to be only 'half as far' or something from the neighbouring area. IE Russia would be 'closer' to Asia than Germany, France, Spain, etc etc.

Let us do anything with cheat codes. We should be able to rise and/or lower just about anything we want with cheat codes. If I want less colonists I should be able to do that with a simple command. If needed, make events that do this. Don't be afraid to make events where the only possible trigger is though the console.

And last but not least: Random Americas. This is an idea that I took from a variant of the game Diplomacy. In short, Europe, Asia, and Africa will be as they always are, and, the distance between China and Spain (across the americas) is fixed. What is different is what is in between. Have the "Americas" be randomly generated. It's a bit 'unfair' that we are humans - who generally know what the world looks like - do not share in the wonder of discovery. Make us discover new world by creating them. Allow this to be an option, you can either play with "Normal" Americas, or with "Random" Americas.

How time flies. Go to the site to find out about updating FTG and there is a new EU. The map looks nice (though have not studied its make up) apart from those giants (still) standing on it. Dunno why a graphic representing a phalanx of Pikemen or Tercio or a column of musketeers could not be used they could even be demonstrative of the size of the Army. Trade being overhauled and Monarchs having personality seem good the other aspects seem a bit shallow. I would have really liked to see a new combat/movement system. Anyway good luck with game

The first time I ever get a PU (King of Italy becoming "King" of Hapsburg) I though than from that time on I've ruled on two nations... but not happened simply I've a new sort of vassals allied to me and apparently ruled by myself (it had the same king) but, in reality, controlled by the IA as all other vassals I had...

I think, in reality, I should control it in some way more profound if should be a way to "become" that nation for a little or at least create buildings, convert them "right" religion, create army that could help in war, enact laws (decisions in game terms) go to war using THEIR claims not ours (we get Spain? Now you a Deutsch gain casus bell on all Spanish cultures, too).

It could had difficulty to the game in some sense as you now have to make noble of PUed nation happy or they try to broke the PU and if you make them too happy the noble of your old nation would complain, then

It should be the possibility to choose to give them to the cadet branch of your house (Austria - Spain division) making them an ally and a vassal in the process.

Diplomacy mechanics, the fine line between intrigue and constructive alliance. The difference between Hanseatic League, HRE, Italian Republics and Ottoman Empire. Stab in the back finesse in France, club to the head in Russia and eyes pulled out in Balkans.

Manufactories

It would be fun if there is a manufactory race where the first empire to build 20+ manufactories is credited as starting the pre-industrial age and gets some type of bonus. Also there could be level 2 and 3 manufactories that increase production exponentially more than the original manufactories. Also certain new manufactories added such as tobacco factory, coffee factory, fishing wharf, etc.

Winter has never killed off an army in EU3, there should be SEVERE penalties for fighting in northern and eastern Europe in the winter. Also possibly a system like Victoria where armies can be mobilized and demobilized rather than disbanded.

If the German army froze to death on the Eastern front in 1941, why the heck can medieval armies survive in the same climate and region!?!?

I would like to see more never existent countries formed from uniting whole culture group.

I would like to see possible to unite west slavs and south slavs according to example of Russia. (I am not sure if Yugoslavia was possible without mods now.)
Ultimately to create great Slavia uniting all slavs in huge country stretching from middle europe up to Kamchatka :D

And there are more groups that could be interesting try to unite. Also there could be possibly more ways to unite such groups with using other means than violent one.

Very well said! Also, geography should be more relevant. A big army should risk total distruction if they choose to spend winter in a mountainous province, sieging.

I'd like to see a more in depth relationship between vassals, junior partners in a PU and their overload.

At present if I am the junior state in this relationship, its a case of sending insults and waiting for succession to break free, while the senior partner attempts to maintain high relations and usually secure annexation.

The senior member should be able to get far more involved in the management of the state, attempting to influence investments and relations with third parties far more than is currently the case. This could be tied to a relationship penalty - a heaving interventionist overload would create resentment in the junior partner. As a junior state, there should be more actions open to you, but you could have a chance of provoking a reaction from your overlord. If I allied with an enemy of my overlord, I should be met with a threat of war, whilst allying with a friend or ally should have little or no effect.

I would like to see a system like the one in HOI3 when you take a capital where you claim their resources. but for EU4 it would be their treasury and once you annex a nation an event fires or something happens where the treasury of th nation you annexed is added to yours, it always annoyed me that you couldnt claim the thousands of ducats from the aztecs when you conquered central america

This is already in EU3. Severe winter in a scorched province can reduce an army to almost nothing.

The one thing I want to see is.. complexity. Don't dumb it down and we will have a great game that may even surpass EU3. All the other changes announced seems like nice improvements as long as the game experience is not reduced to following a marked path to success.
