I would personally love a function which lets you delegate parts of your colonial empire, for example creating an east indian trading company whose main task is to make the colonies in his area profittable, can only trade in his area and only has rights to fight defencive wars for the empire, basicly a pumped up vassal, which you still controll to some degree

Easier colonization management. I would love to see the option to give a prefer a colonization destination, instead of the tedious task of going over lots of provinces clicking multiple times just to get your colonies to improve.
Yes Easier colonization management

More modding capabilities. As we've seen before (The Elder Scrolls series, Half Life, Warcraft and the GS games for example) the modding community is what makes great games incredible. I'm not a very experienced modder but from what I've read on the modding forums there's a lot of intresting stuff that is impossible to mod because of some parts of the game being hardcoded.
Yes.
" In EU3 we scrapped historical events and added lots and lots of system and mechanics to create more plausible gameplay. While we are continuing on that concept and keep making more plausible mechanics, we are in EU4 doing something new..."

This is the main reason why I might not buy the game.
But make it possible to add handmade historical events in a mod. Even if they are not a part of default.

You can already add historical events in mods. Don't see how or why they would change that.

I would actually like to see almost all colonies handled like vassals but instead of making them actually vassals (which would require tags up the wazoo) allow colonies to be administered based on the region they are in. Also,for the love of all things holy and righteous pleas make manpower regional. For example manpower in India can only be raised in India. I understand the current abstraction but it is dated and quite annoying.

Not necessarily. I believe it was in another thread, but I suggested that colonizing could be done as a focus towards regions. So for example the Eastern American seaboard could be an entire colonizing region. The regions would compose of multiple territories and would be slow to turn into truly functional colonies. You could try and focus on even more regions (hopefully with some sort of pop or economic tie in, don't want Irish OPMs colonizing the entire of the Americas in one go) if you're big enough, or focus on one region even more to bring it up to strength. But, unlike in EU3 where your first successful colony attempt makes the colony yours, you enter a grey zone. Like with the horde provinces, you'd have settlements. Sooner or later, two countries trying to colonize the same region will go to war over it.

Add in a cultural naming localization based on colonist culture and you've got multiple a single tag with multiple uses. Canada colonized by the English? It's Canada. Colonized by France? Quebec. Colonized by a Scandinavian nation? Vinland. Or perhaps some invented but culturally and geographically appropriate name.

It's a small wish, but periodic music. Having different music play during the different ages would go a long way in giving the game a unique personality. If I recall, one of the Europa Universalis games prior to the third one had this too.

A much better Naval System!!;

Magna Mundi Faction system (and others MM concepts);

That is a game for serious players, not for everyone to like/buy;

That the name is EUROPA Universalis, not only Universalis

I would finally like to see a good alliance system.
Magna Mundi Platinum did a good job when the player started expanding too much, the other nations around it got "frightened" and started to ally against the player.
The same could be done all the time. In reality, and that should be the scope of EU IV, there should be the try from all nations to install a balance of power somehow.
Imagine Spain grows too big. Then France, parts of Italy, and England (perhaps Portugal) will start to try to ally and to cut its power down- or try at least to cut its power down where it is not so strong, like when it occupied Holland.
The same with France. France was getting too big at some point, and the other countries around it allied, when it tried to invade Italy, the pope even got down to make an holy alliance against France so that it was not able to set too much of a foothold in northern Italy.
It also happened in the 30-year war in Germany. When the emperor became too powerful compared to the protestants, first of all, he had to defeat the german protestant alliance. After that happened, Denmark tried to invade Germany, and the emperor still was able to defeat them. Then, Sweden appeared, and after that, France tried to cut away its piece so that the Emperor had to give in and because of that, there was no hegemony of the catholics in Germany. Not much changed, except 30 years of war and destruction.
(this contrasts the badboy value where just everyone who was not in good terms with the player would declare war on him, no matter what its chances are to win the war; first, there should be an anti-player alliance; and when it becomes stronger than the player, it should declare war when the player expands too much!)
I would like to see these things to happen historically, and no player being able to conquer the world within a 100 years.
Even then, when a state overexpands, it will become much more decentralised and much more difficult to handle, like it happened to Poland-Lithuania and the Ottoman Empire.
All this, especially (three-way or even quadruple) alliances with a certain balance of power and a map where we are capable to see all alliances would help much more.

I would like if we had dynasties and characters maybe not like in CK2 but still to have some characters. I think its time that EU4 implement this...

It is time for them to join the generic ideas from both games. This should be called "Universal Kings" instead. A mixture of the best features from both games would be awesome and imo a successful merger.

Yes, better colony management.

Small thing, but please give separate audio sliders for the click noise when you select a province from the horrible, horrible "ambient" sounds of CoT traders, battles, and, most of all, sieges. The latter sounds drive me crazy, but I do want the click sound for various UI selections.

One thought I had today while playing was that EU4 definitely needs Estonia as a revolter/releaseable nation if Estonian culture is to remain. Whenever I play vanilla I always notice its absence either due to a revolt or a peace deal.

I want guerillas. Now the game is only about juggernauts colliding but playing with Ireland I don't feel I want big lands or big armies -- and the revolting peasants are just too dumb to make feel like it's the way of Irish war.

Also I would like some cultural embellishments for provinces. It would be cool to be the Pope who hires some artists to virtually build up the city. In EUIII all what Michaelangelo and Mozart do is to add to the stability value only.
