Please rework the Eastern European countries and the Balkans. In EU3 (and pretty much all Paradox game) it's just sometimes silly, boring and historically inaccurate. New maps, missions would be great.
Also adding more depth to domestic policies could spice up things. Like different gameplay with different types of governments, laws etc. I know this sounds more like Victoria, but conquest and colonization would be much more interesting if you'd also have to run your country in the background.
But I'm pretty sure it's gonna be awesome anyway :D

Mods fix most of that. Paradox don't have all the money and time in the world, it's probably best that they focus on improving the core hard-coded features and let modders (or expansion packs) add new content, alter balancing etc.

Speaking of, one thing I'd like to see would be more robust modding options. Maybe the ability to to set up new factions/groups (such as the Shogunate and HRE mechanic), etc.

But definitely, I'd like to have the ability to straight up import CK2 games into EUIV.

Vicky 2's pops, RGOs, and a more global economy based on supply and demand. Colonial conquest would be more meaningful and strategic, if I were to lose the sugar plantations in the Caribbean or spice provinces in India that loss would be felt elsewhere in the empire. Countries would fight resources to build their economy with. EU3 already has this somewhat with strategic goods, but they could go further.

More diplomatic options and better AI.

I don't know how, but make colonization and exploration more interesting than just clicking "send colonist" every 12 months.

Armies that can only be reinforced in provinces controlled by their owner!
Local autonomy!
Make manpower and tax dynamic, compared to poplulation of province, so that if you lose tens of thousands of men, you also lose massive tax revenues and future manpower rescources!
A population system based on births vs mortality, which could be affected by Production Technology, simulating the demographic transition in the 18-19th Century.

Why so many people want converters? In all PI games player-controlled countries will usually be massive empires, even if they were small countries in the beginning. It's obvious that the converted game will not be balanced or challenging. Converters could only work if the results of your previous games were realistic/plausible to begin with, which is rarely the case.

You can RP in CKII so that you don't become a massive empire. In fact, the way I play, I only expand by marriage anyway and even then I prefer to give away lands to those in the family.

CKII to EUIV converter DLC.

noooo! its a waste of devs time - all of the things they could be adding/improving on with the base of EU4, they would instead spend there time on a converter....... I'd rather they focus more of their time on AI & new aspects of gameplay i.e. the important things.

devs please dont waste you time on some stupid converter, especially when historically paradox games just lead players to blob anyway, so eventually theres no challeneg or fun. Thats just within the timespan on one game, let alone two games.....................

perhaps only ever even conceive the thought of a converter after you have made a challenging game where it is virtually impossible to blob...... ahhh to dream... :)

I am fairly positive each of these have been plenty, but here's the three things I'd like.

1. Guerilla Warfare- Guerilla warfare has been extremely influential in history. Rebel forces, the Native American tribes, the Spanish Resistance etc. all used it, maybe some sort of agent set up in a group of provinces to represent it, rather than unit vs. unit warfare, that would maybe increase attrition significantly, reduce morale or even be able to route a force from the area without a real battle, or be found out and driven out. This would not only create more realistic wars between the Europeans and American Indians, but also make fighting rebels/a revolution potentially less tedious/a challenge.

2. More interesting Colonial Revolutions- I for one am not a fan of seeing Brazil arise in Africa, or the USA declare its independence in Alaska. Heck, I just get tired of seeing the same countries independent each time the colonies declare their independence. If some sort of system with "fantasy" countries or culturally based (are they? Haven't played EUIII in a while) system for naming the new countries would be good too.

3. More fish. Fish is obviously the most important resource in the game.

I'd like to see, when you choose a later start, less development of provinces. As it is, you will have every province developed to the max. This really shouldn't be.

id like too see more unpassable areas like the one between spain france in ck2.
moutainous areas and geography were the main reasons certain nations ended up the shape they were...... for example the timuirids and many nations before and after them went along the mountain line between modern day iraq/iran

another area would be northern india.... indians fighting tibetans is just silly due to barley passable terrain.... individuals crossing its plausable but not profesional armies

other areas would be around georgia northern scandinavia transyvania china around the funnan region...... china should only be able to get to south east asia via dia nam (coastal area)

i believe these unpassable areas would make good tactical options for the player

im not asking for terra incognata im just asking for a line saying to nations you have to go around not over these mountains

id also like to see more defendable island states like venice in gibralter and holland

i think changes like this would help keep borders a little more believable

They might be having stability problems - it depends what stability they are programmed to look at changing government at.

Hopefully 'government tech' does not hamper government type too much. Pressing needs should drive changes like development of bureaucracy or constitutional monarchy rather than reaching a certain year give or take.
