I would like to see a simplified POP system, as in Victoria 2, but with fewer types. It would enable the game to model demographics, population growth, migration, assimilation and the like much more accurately.

I don't think there is any chance that this suggestion will be implemented ("too complicated" for the intended mass audience), but hey, one can always dream...

Second that.

I'd also like an option to buy provinces not only sell, like it is in EU3.

I personally disagree with this, even if only because the AI just can't handle that "power". The game wouldn't end up as such a sloppy mess even just a few years into the game if there were some more constraints on the ability to war.

Agreed. War was always for some reason. Notice all the wars in eighteenth century that ended with 'succession'? :)

It's easy enough to mod the CBs out of existence if you like, though.

RE:Technology Groups
EUIII simulated it fairly well, so not sure how much this should be messed with.

Where it didn't work for me was Russia. Russia is never a particularly backward part of Europe (the Russian state's access to the best technology was as often-as-not superior to most western European states), but in EUIII gets left with a backward tech group that leaves it behind places that were actually much more 'backward', like Poland, Scandinavia and Ireland. Russia's main 'problem' in the era is climate and very low population density, not technological backwardness.

I would like to see a lot more countries have unique missions or decisions, particularly smaller ones. Often it feels like the countries with the most interesting gameplay options in EU3 because of unique missions and events and decisions are too easy for an experienced player to steamroll with, so they have to play what amounts to the same minor nation in a different location over and over again if they want a challenge.

Maintenance sliders on each individual stack of units. That way I don't need to hike all my land units up to 100% (and bust my economy) just to have a piddly 8000 men fighting fit in one small campaign area. Or have the whole Portuguese navy on full maintenance so that 2 frigates can safetly take on a pirate ship.

Aye.

Ports near the Caspian Sea?

Seaports in provinces located near the Caspian Sea

I know you wont have much use when it comes to ships, however building a port in a province brings +25% income (if I am not wrong). Also if you have COT (Astrakhan) near the Caspian Sea, you will not get the colonist bonus.

AND there were actually ports in the Caspian Sea.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caspian_Sea

(off topic: by the way a sea canal in the Kalmykia province would have been great for a link with the Black Sea)

The thing is that there will never be a casus belli system that can encompass every possible reason the player might have for declaring war on someone. If you limit players to only declaring war when they have a CB, they might not be able to declare war to curb a county's expansion, to keep the balance of power in check, to force them to slow their colonial expansion, etc., etc., which are all valid reasons to declare war on someone, that might not have a CB attached.

What I really would like to see is a proper representation of Hungary. No vassal Transylvania, especially not with only Romanian population for example. Transylvania was an integrated part of Hungary. Making it as an independent country is like giving England to the United Kingdom and make Scotland, Wales and Ireland as vassals. This simply was not the case. (Sorry fellow Romanian players, don't want to start an ideological flamewar, these are just historical facts)

You could make a maintain a balance of power CB. Given that coalitions have been confirmed, such a CB does not seem unlikely.

More number of provinces, in the screens posted Spain has less provinces that EU3 and north african provinces are still so big.

And rework SRI.

And no more permenent terra incognita, for example Orellana went down Amazonas something that it´s impossible in the game

That CB would have to either always be available, meaning you'll never, ever take a stab hit for declaring war unless you have a marriage or whatever, or be context driven, which might mean it isn't available when you want it to be.

This also. Just give a flat -1 stability for declaring war. This would make all wars at least somewhat painful (the way it is right now, sometimes you don't even notice any disadvantage for not being at war). I doubt the populace really cared too much about what reason you had for the war, and you always have some reason. It's annoying to not be able to maintain the Balance of Power just because I don't have a handy CB.

It's not like one actually needs more Casus Belli. Between colonialism, nationalism, liberation, claim on throne, missions, infamy over the limit, excommunication, heresy and cores, the balance of power is pretty much already covered somewhere.

Aye.

Yes. But it should be done 2 ways, and an on-off toggle for maintenance would work fine. For land units, it'd be half or full (and I'd have no such options for mercs; they'd always be full). For fleets, it should be full or 0, and when the latter is clicked, they shouldn't count for patrols, or anything else, and at most cost 1/2 FL.

Not sure if mentioned, but I'd like more than 3 troop types. One of the few things I was giddy about MM was that in one of the videos they talked about light and heavy infantry. Cavalry of course should also be heavy and light. CK2 has what, a dozen different troop types? I think EU IV should be able to handle 5 or 6.
