Personally, I'd like to see a better cabinet mechanic, perhaps something similar to Hearts of Iron 3 only using randomly generated ministers. I'd like to see power (or rather whose stats the game uses for bonuses/penalties) being distributed between the monarch and his/her ministers based on the government type. So in a Despotic Monarchy, all power is coming straight from the King/Queen. In a Constituional Monarchy, all administration related stats are coming from the Prime Minister and the monarch only contributes charisma/prestige, or something like that.

The Personal Union is a mechanic that has always been terrible in EU3, IMO. I'd love to see it changed to involve more interaction between the senior and junior power. The senior partner should have the ability to make changes to the junior, depending on the government type of the two. If you throw around your weight too much, then the nobles/officials in the junior partner will start to want a separate King/Queen.

No more terra incognita.

Meaning you want thick fog that can't be travelled through instead or you just want to whole world open to the player at the start? If you meant the latter, what restrictions were you thinking of? I mean, certainly you don't want the Ottomans conquering Ming from the sea 50 years into the game or something, right?

Is that not a main feature of the game though? exploring? what I would like is for there to be no more permente terra incongtia, sure exploring the darkest parts of africa may not be common but if I was say an african kingdom and empire I would love that chance to explore that way and so on.

Fog or something like it. you should be able to attempt to cross any terrain, it should just be stupid to try some.

EDIT: I should have said permanent terra incognita.

Another thing, I desperately want is Victoria's flag and country name changing mechanic for governments. It fits so well in a game like this too where you have the French revolution and all.

Easier colonization management. I would love to see the option to give a prefer a colonization destination, instead of the tedious task of going over lots of provinces clicking multiple times just to get your colonies to improve.

Also, I would love to be able to manually change and add names for regions (e.g.: Holland** -> Gelderland* -> Arnhem*). Similar to what you see in Vicky, but then editable.

I'm super excited, but I'd -love- to see Paradox implement a Civ 4-style ending, with statistics, graphs, and an animated picture of history. This already doable with some user made programs (EU3View, I believe?), which goes to show how easy this could be for Paradox. When I resign or finish a game, it always feels so underwhelming. EU3 at least had that history thing, but it seems like PDS has mostly moved past that now.

Interesting historical figures, like Isaac Newton, Galileo and the like who give bonuses to the rulers who recruit them. In short, a fleshed-out ministerial system with recognizable names and interesting stats and bonuses. This could be a little mini-game all in itself (who can recruit Galilieo first? What incentives are there? etc.)

For me, history is in many ways about the people, and moreso about significant people of the time.

Well, typically in PI games you have all of those graphs available to you for the entire game. Just open the ledger.

As far as endings go, I'd like to see a Vicky2 styled scoring system. It's more interesting when it feels like I'm actively competing against the AIs.

I would like if we had dynasties and characters maybe not like in CK2 but still to have some characters. I think its time that EU4 implement this...

I really agree with this. Considering there will be port mods from CK2, they ought to be able to continue the dynasty. I don't expect emblems or crests to continue on; but, at least, the family name. It seems like there could be trouble with cultures and such continuing - i.e. Saxons still around in 1400.

Look at Oresund. Historically, Denmark saw an increase in power and wealth during this period, namely enabled by their newly established subtle geopolitically positioning. I hope controlling key points will have its say.

The big issue with converters has never been anything minor like cultures. The big obstacle to fan converters has always been incompatible tag sets between two games. In CK2, every province is a tag. Every county represents a separate political entity. Accurately porting a CK2 to EU4 will likely never happen because there's always the issue of what happens to all of those little independent counts and dukes during the conversion. EU4 will almost certainly not have tags to represent them, leaving modders making the converter take the easy way out and simply arbitrarily assign them existing EU4 tags to compensate. The result from all of this is a conversion featuring a political map that looks completely alien when compared to the save you converted.

1. Simplified pops system.

2. Decent Dynasty system.

3. More in-depth interaction with the provinces, regions, armies, dynasty, members of the court.

4. Law system.
