More of an expansion thing, but what I'd really like to see in EU3 is the ability to sortie during sieges (like a reverse-assault, with the advantage to the sieger instead of the besieged). Having a province with a garrison of 4000 besieged by 500 men always seems silly.

I think the reason that they didn't was because suddenly you have how many thousands of free soldiers suddenly.

Now, I wouldn't mind this if they made those defenders really crappy militia or guards and always function like the most basic infantry (tech level 1). Or if they failed, the city automatically falls.

And if they win, the enemy run and they go back to the city: so no free soldiers.
There are some good points in here, but they don't actually have a big chance to be implemented in a patch. Because some of them (like the garison atack the atackers) need a change in the game engine. So if Paradox didn't think about it before designing the game engine I think now it is too late.
I don't have NA, yet. But I want to buy.
I have not played EU for some time now, waiting for a good patch to come. Reading the list of 2.1 (and 2.0 of course) makes me more determin to buy it.
What I want to know is when 2.2 will actually come out, or if will it come out at all.
So can someone tell me if Paradox is working on 2.2? And if yes then when will it be ready.

I'm not talking about turning the defenders into soldiers, just use the assault mechanics - like a button you press to assault the besiegers with your garrison at say 1v3 odds (as opposed to 1v4 when assaulting a city).

Yeah, I realize this would never happen in a patch, but if they're releasing another expansion its definitely on my expansion wishlist.

Or even better: A defending army defeated in a home province, can join the defenders of the city instead of fleeing to another province, and the now real (payed for) army defending a city can later sortie out.

Hey i dont know if any one noticed but after army is lets say destroyed in 60% or even 90% they running to their territory they gain men for free and equipment too unlimited amount of times...i think its very not realistic...

I think it would be better if lets say we lossed cavalary for 10 ducats after some years we gained 10% of inflation so for reinforcing 50% we need to pay 5.5 ducats i know there is already army maintainace but i think its only for repair and pay for soldiers not buying new equipment maybe they salvage they equipment

Any way i think then ppl would pay more attention on raising economy than gaining provinces wars should cost a lot...but it would only work if AI wouldent got so many things for free...
