What will be your first ahistorical country/move?

As Japan, try to defeat UK Pacific fleet before war with USA by starting the war with Allies early in 1940 instead of late 1941! Damage them as much as possible (maybe even invading Britain) until I see war with USA is inevitable. Then Pearl Harbor must will be even more devastating than in real life, allowing Imperial Japanese Navy to reign supreme in both the Pacific and Atlantic! Then invade Panama and South America, locking the Americans in North America with the rest of the world dominated by Axis.

Communist France, similar to latest WWW. I really like the last one, looks interesting!

In regard to the OP...

My first a-historical game will be as Germany, with an attempt to get rid of the Nazi Clique ASAP and via Civil War if necessary to become democratic. I hope that France turns RED in the same match which would then provide me with a 2-front challenge against the red INTERNATIONALISTS. Maybe this would be a good time to team up with Britain and fight a war in the style of Frederik the Great (the 7 Year War).

Well my first ahistorical move will be trying to survive as Poland and make Intermarium Alliance with neighbor countries against Nazi Germany and Soviet Union.
You know I reading about all this ahistorical possibilities: making democratic Germany, bring faschist party to rule in Usa, make red crusade agains capitalist Europe as Trotskist Soviet Union and many other possibilities, is it just me or does it remind anyone else about Mod 33 for Hearts of Iron 2?

You are a glutton for punishment playing Israel for a first game. But it would be a good way to learn the game mechanics I guess. Unless Italy stomps you I guess. Either way sounds fun.

Even more ahistorical, so all for the better. Imagine Italy stomping Israel IRL.

But this was just the first ahistorical thing I would do. I would likely try my first game as the USSR with a historic goal of pupeting Eastern Europe.

Founding my own faction ("Dawn of Red Sun" or something like that) and starting war with USSR and after conquering half of it and restoring the Russian Empire if possible, I'll go south and remove Republican China with the rest of the world.

Makes more sense to RP him as Mengjiang, really. It was the fascist Mongolia, and was basically an attachment of Manchukuo, which is where almost all the far-eastern White Russians went. Same route as his good buddy Semyonov.

in hoi2 i used to enjoy joining the allies as Rep Spain when Germany started losing to the Soviets, they dont have many troops in non-vichy france so i can claim quite a bit of land, i did reach the rhine once as republican spain, though i had a bit of help
