  • A warrior dynasty with martial family traditions and (ultimately) a private army?
  • A dynasty of fair and beloved rulers, who teach the youngest to be concerned about the laws and welfare of the peasants?
  • A family of conspirators with a dark reputation, like the Borgias, with underworld connections?
  • A dynasty of eugenists who carefully select their partners to produce genetically perfect children?
  • A dynasty of scholars with ancestral knowledge transmitted only within the family?
  • A glorious dynasty that will work to build a reputation that will last for millennia?
  • A family oriented and supportive dynasty (full mafia mode), like maximum mutual aid between members of the same blood taught from a very young age?
  • A hybrid between several styles, like warrior + family, conspirators + erudition, etc... (if yes, say which hybrid, knowing that if you aim to make a hybrid, you probably won't be able to reach the last perks of each category)

I still desperately just want to know what all the perks do, especially the Law and Erudition lines which I am leaning towards based on the limited information I have.

For my first run I'm planning an Irish (of course) dynasty of warrior-scholars, who will implement and enforce radical new laws such as allowing women to inherit land and fight on the battlefield. Maybe I'll try to make them all giants too, just for fun.

Until I see all the perk descriptions, I can't really say, but it will likely be hybrid. I rarely stick to one "tree" in a game.

Definitely Blood and Kin. The problem will be if we can unlock a lot of them. Like will max blood and kin be possible or only one is feasible? If that's the case, blood all the waaaay.

A small aristocratic family with an ancient history that survived all changes throughout the rise and fall of empires, with a dark secret they will do everything to protect.

A Piast dynasty, but even Piast-er than in real world. Which means Piast holding EVERY possible title and even more. Like Silesia, but everywhere. Also, muslim if possible to ensure even more dynastic spam.

Blood and Kin, easy. for the lack of the other more "stat" related bonuses, i just pick from the best of the best of the dynasty for positions, who will all live well into old age.

after all, when everyone is your dynasty, you cant really lose, can you?

I seem to recall it was mentioned that a lot of the "stronger" perks tended to be further down the tree, so I doubt you'll want to go too hybrid.

Although if you end up with an AI dynasty head, you may not have much choice (which will probably happen at least once or twice, since apparently kids can't be dynasty heads).

It looks like perks get progressively more expensive the further you go down the tree, so it might still be viable to choose two or three low-level perks over one strong perk.

Whatever helps me spread my Catholic heresy fastest + warriors. I need to destroy the outdated morals of the Catholoc church and introduce the world to the true divinity of cannibalism and incest.

Without seeing the effects, I'm not really sure.

But what I'm more hopeful about is that, since they give us 7 trees each with 5 ranks, it looks like the goal is not to unlock every one of them. I would like to see a balance where a really good dynasty, by end game, will only have been able to unlock about 10-15 of them at most IF they were playing well. Most mediocre dynasties should only have about 5 by end game.

The same is true for the lifestyle perks. It's best when you have to make serious choices and your best hope is to unlock no more than 1/3 of them.

Viking raiders eventually forming a Scandinavian Empire. All those poorly defended English/French churches just waiting to be sacked. Will probably go for the Blood legacy first, Warfare second. The buffs from the Blood legacy were almost all moused over in the stream on Wednesday and they look really good. The ones I remember off the top of my head was a +30% chance of inheriting good congenital traits and a -30% chance of inheriting bad congenital traits. Which should certainly help keeping strong, quick and other similar traits in the dynasty.
