When I read about it in a dev diary I thought they would only halve positive modifiers to make the game more challenging.

What was the point of halving ALL opinion modifiers?

Speak for yourself. I'm still seeing fallout from those *two times* I cheated on my AI wife. Seriously, this is the middle ages & I'm a King, at worst my wife will be significantly annoyed. (A non-stacking "-30 Unfaithful Husband" and non-stacking "-20 Acknowledged Bastard" would be far more appropriate; instead of, y'know, the stacking "-100 MY HUSBAND IS A CHEATER".)
