What was the last game you were this excited for?

I will answer a slightly different question - which games coming out will I be equally excited for - Torment and Project Eternity. I figure I'll be temporarily satiated with grand strategy fix due to CK2/EUIV sometime next year, just in time for the release of these awesome (I hope) RPGs.

Oblivion, Civ 4, Simcity 4 were the games I got ridiculously excited about. I don't do that anymore. Not for games, anyway.

Already released: Skyrim (total dissapointment after a long run), Civ 5: BNW (still pending for a good try, didn't spend too much time playing it)

The most hyped I've been for a game is for X Rebirth. It's not available yet (will be on November), but oh boy... The X Universe games are awesome, X Rebirth is just "awesome x 5".

Of course, I'm equally hyped for EU4. But my hype for EU4 was succesfully calmed down until a few days ago (and will be calmed even more in 16h! =D), my hype for X Rebirth has been growing for years now (from 2011-early 2012 if I remember correctly).

Thief 3 back in 2005 or something, being one of the hardcore nutter fans of thief 1 + thief 2. It was quite a dissapointment (and dont me started on thief 4), but I am really hyped for EU4, even more so after playing the demo!

Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate. I ended up playing it for a few hours and never playing it again. Not that it isn't a good game it was just obvious that I would need to invest way more time than I am willing for a game like that.

I ask because I can barely remember ever being this excited for a game before EUIV. The only two games that came close for me would be The Sims Medieval, Spore (I obviously hadn't discovered strategy yet) and then Civ V.All of which were total disappointments. What games have all of you been as or more excited about than EUIV?

The Witcher 2 - because I had the VERY big box CE on order. And yes, while the physical bits were great the game itself was a laggy mess on my PC. Obviously hoping for better things tonight.

Outside of the grand strategy genre, I am a huge fan of stealth games, and I was very excited about Dishonored. It didn't disappoint.
