Call me what you will. The difference is you will be annexed, I will be a sovereign state, safe from harm's way. :D

IMHo there should be a code that prevents a great power from being sattelited as an option. i.e. in the options screen when you load a game or when you start a new one should be an option "Allow satteliting GP's?" yes / no

trully a country that is a great power being sattelited cuts away the multitude of wars and conflicts in the game and the game looses the balance it had.

once in VIP i as china sattelited Russia on the first conflict with them in 1840. I just began producing regular troops of native quality and after taking all their armies out of siberia i began taking a 2 province pathway to S=peterburg. by the time i got there through the cores i ofered satteliting. and they accepted it.

since i did nto feel like an uncivilized country has a right of satteliting a great power i manually eddited the sattelite status out of the save game and continued.

In a game I as Germany try to damage England and Russia Empires. I sattelite France and Spain because I don't want them to trade tech with my enemies. I should satellite them earlier. Even I am the tech lead I still can't research all! Some of nations has 600 research point! Then begin the seperation of Russia into small sattelite states because I don't want too big to manage, and this keep me busy awhile.
