I have absolutely no idea. there isn't really a brigade with added attack on urban territory, I guess.

just use what you have, and it'll work out fine (especially after encircling the province, but don't try this on moskou, as it will soon be filled with russian infantry, and then there's no way you can capture it)

Thx! In your experience which approach works best to capturing Moscow on the first assault? I've had the same sorry experience encircling it and watching it churn out militia like crazy frustrating my 3:1 attack strength from all directions.

imho just destroy its infrastructure to 0 and do interdiction strikes while attacking , after few waves of attacks you will win, because your org regeneration will be higher.

If the game were realistic, the answer would be 'engineers', after softening them up w/ bombs & heavy artillery barrage. But, things being what they are, the answer is -as always- "it depends on what is defening the province". In any case though, I wouldn't go in there w/ tanks... it's just not stylish. Also keep tanks out of the jungle & mountains, btw.

In HoI, the bombers effectively function in the way artillery SHOULD... so, just bomb the crap out of them (ORG should definitely lower, as should entrenchment - though I'm not sure if the latter is the case in this game), then go in and attack w/ elite infantry & brigades that do the most damage to the type of unit that is defending the province.

Arts are very slow though. I prefer speed so I always use engineer (the best brigade IMO).
Useless brigade. Even for river crossings.
I usually use no brigade since i hate the slowdown. Yet for city fights that might not actually matter so much.

The river crossing bonus is not significant but it is helpful. The increase in defence is a welcome bonus. However the speed increase is golden, even a small increase is great to have. Given the low cost of engineer brigade and the advantages they provide, you will be missing a lot if you are playing without any brigade.

Hardly. It is exactly chanceled by the lower amount of troops you have.

The increase in defence is a welcome bonus.
An illusion. The higher Defensiveness per unit is just barely enough to make up for the higher chance to be targeted by more than one enemy, thus be subject to MTE. There is in fact overall no bonus at all.

However the speed increase is golden, even a small increase is great to have.
well 0.5 more speed for the cost of oil. Personally i prefer to just give everyone OS, something i refreign for oil using units.

Given the low cost of engineer brigade
25% of a division is not cheap!

We have a different opinion then. :)

For me the cost is completely justified (I really do think it is low) by the speed increase since I am a speed demon who loves to encircle troops. Plus, if you are playing a major, deploying divisions without brigades attachment is like leaving a restaurant with your stomach only half full.

Don't airborne divisions have a bonus for urban fighting?

Elite Units have less malus, -40% rather than -50% for INF.
Usually thats chanceled by their lower attack values: 1941 INF has 14 attack thats modified to 7. Paras have 10 which is modified to 6. So they still perform worse. Only reason is for the additional axis of attack.
