If you look closely, you’ll notice that there are a number of forums for each game and each of these has a specific purpose. Posting a thread in the wrong forum almost certainly means that (1) the question you’re asking won’t get answered, (2) that it may take a while before you even realise that it won’t get answered, (3) wastes the time of the volunteers who support or administer the forum who have to subsequently read it and move it to wherever it should be and thus don’t get to the other forum-specific (legitimate) questions as quickly, (4) clutters up the forum with OT threads since a linked copy is always left on the original forum so you can find where it’s been moved to, and (5) makes it painfully obvious that you haven’t read the stickies.

The Various HOI forums fall into three main catagories:
GENERAL HOI DISCUSSION
- HOI General Discussions Forum (GD): This is the forum where you should ask all those questions about how to play the game. The basic presumption here is that the game is working roughly as the designers think that it should, and you’re looking for help on how to conquer the world or Perform a certain action.
- The Suggestions/Wishes/Ideas/Tweaks Forum: This is where you should offer suggestions about how it could be modified to “improve” or adjust it to your tastes, or want to give the designers some helpful suggestions for the future.
- The Support Forum: This is where you should report issues directly relating to malfunctions of the game, and most particularly ones involving hardware issues that result in being unable to play the game due to inability to load it or patch it, strange video effects, strange audio effects, random CTDs, and so on. The assumption here is that something is materially wrong with the interaction between the game and your particular computer configuration, and that it needs to be resolved so you can get on with having the joy of playing it.
- The Bug Reporting Forum: This is where you report issues with the actual events and interface. The staff here want to know if there’s a particular event or action that you can help them to identify that is causing the game to malfunction so the code can be corrected. Do not use the word "Bug" in your topic, this is reserved for the Moderators of the forum to track the threads there.
- HOI Forums: A list of all the HOI forums
- FAQ forum where many useful tables and charts can be found to explain some of the mechanics of the game.
- MP forum where most multi-player related questions should be asked.
- AAR forum where you can read about other people’s experiences with the game.
- Scenarios & Modifications forum where new graphics are made and events are scripted and where you can get help in designing custom events, graphics and edits or even participate in building new scenarios…poke around and you’ll find a wealth of information and help.
- Fun Forums: A list of all the Fun forums
- OT or Off Topic Forum This is where any posts not related to HOI should go.
- History forums
Discussion of general history. Sub Forums include Pre1419 , 1419-1819 , and post 1819. - EU Roleplaying game where you can participate in a RPG.
- A List of the NON-English Language Forums Where you can engage in discussions in laguages other than English.
- Europa Universalis 2: A list of all the EU2 forums
- Europa Universalis 1 A list of all the EU1 Forums.
- Legion A list of all the Legion Forums.
- Crusader Kings A list of all the CK Forums.
