I've been in a dilly-dally mood lately, so I've been dilly-dallying with Cities:Skylines. When I'm not in full-on strategic mode, I like piddling with city builders.

Nothing, just work to get enough money to support myself for hoi4 release so I can tell my boss "Hey I quit" then run away happily until I realize I am broke.
I'm playing Ultimate General: Gettysburg at the moment. It's basically a modern remake of Sid Meier's Gettysburg, so it's really great.
I'm also thinking about buying Scourge of War: Waterloo, but I don't know if it's any good I just saw it on Steam today. Has anyone played with it?

I would love to finish off a HoI 3 campaign but the game crash every half an hour for me so now I just play Fallout 4.
I bought "Supreme Ruler Ultimate" on Steam (70% off until December 1st) for €8.50.
Love it so far. You can play different campaigns from 1936-2020. I decided to win WW2 for Germany. Here's a screen one month into Barbarossa. I like how rail lines are incredibly important logistics hubs. The focus of the game is more on the economical side which I prefer over the military heavy HoI focus. You could compare it to Vicky in that regard.
If anyone is interested in the game: do yourself the favour to disable "3d terrain". You'll get a smooth performance without that option which is heavy on CPU.
Look at Hitler, he's smiling! There's also angry and frowning Hitler depending on the situation:

Woah, that was a Blitz-Barbarossa, 4 months in total.
I got a total kill ratio of 10:1 (WW2 in general).
This game is really beautiful when it comes to simulating rail lines and supplies. My troops got stuck between Leningrad and Moscow due to lack of supplies. I had to throw everything including the kitchen sink at Leningrad to close the rail connection. This was historically one of the reasons for Hitler to not attack Moscow in August, the unsolved northern flank.

Just a quick tip: Distant Worlds Universe is 50% off on Steam during the weekend. That's a really good strategy game.

Not attacking Switzerland? But why?
One thing at a time, spain was closer, when the army swing back it'll take swizz, italy... balcans...
CK2 with CK2Plus, EU4 with M&T+sub-mods, VC2 with PDM+sub-mods, HoI3 with BICE+sub-mods. Or do what I'm doing: play Fallout 4 with at least 60 different immersive game enhancing gfx/sfx mods enabled simultanously. And that's not even a lot.

There really aren't that many options if you enjoy the worldwide combat aspect of HoI3. But if you like to hurt yourself a bit, and have some free time to literally waste away - then Supreme Commander can be a fun game. If you buy Ultimate, they are still working on improving it - but the other versions are completely dead. Be warned, you will fail sometimes, and you will be completely at a loss as to how the game mechanics actually work at other times. It is a blunt mistress - but she is beautiful underneath.
