The ancient caretakers are even more awkward as machine intelligence drones will start purging once they are cut off from the mind. That means you have a time limit to relocate several planets worth of your own pops to the three ringworld sections to where they can be unproductive.

At least ringworlds have a ton of district space, so eventually they can be gainfully employed, but it's one helluva transition you have to make quickly.

I ate them. The new pop growth mechanics mean that I just cannot play an empire that accepts outsiders.
This is one of the reasons I like Synthetic Ascension even though they're kind of iffy compared to the other two ascension types now. Don't like all those aliens who keep moving into your empire, but you still want to be xenophilic? Assimilate them all into your primary species!
