what to do with consecrated worlds ?

I have chosen this ascension perk, mainly because I play first time spiritual.
I have consecrated 2 worlds and colonized and the text says something about amenities scaling to the spritual significance, so I build there temple and numistic shrine, but the consecrated world bonus is still only 5% amenities.
So, can someone explain me, how the work in detail ? ... and have I wasted an ascension perk ?

You're not supposed to colonize them. They're holy places for people to visit, not live in. Think something like the Fallen Empire's Holy Worlds.
Having consecrated worlds gives empire-wide bonuses. The degree is based on the quality of the worlds consecrated. You can de-consecrate a world anytime to consecrate a different one if you want, perhaps getting a better bonus if the new world is of much better quality.

The highest quality worlds are Gaia worlds. Those will generate the most benefit.

So, find some Gaia worlds that you don't want to colonize, and consecrate them. Note that size doesn't matter, so a crappy Gaia world with 10 districts can serve as a great world to consecrate.

That being said, I think the best worlds to consecrate are the Holy Worlds. I'm not going to colonize them any time soon anyway, so I grab their systems and consecrate the smallest ones. At least then those planets are doing something useful for me.

For what it's worth, my slaving authoritarian spiritualist empire currently runs zero amenities buildings on any of my worlds. The amenities boost I get from consecrated worlds, coupled with slaving guilds, gives me all the amenities I need.

I got amenities from byzantine bureaucrazy, that gives a building with 2 admin pop slots. but for my arc worlds I won't waste those for entertainer and stuff

You can consecrate up to 3 worlds in this way.

A question I can't answer yet is how the unity generation compares to just colonizing worlds and putting unity buildings on them.

On my last run, I got the Numa shrine from the Caravaneers with my spiritualist empire, and then I grabbed the ministry of culture. So, if i wanted, I could have carpeted planets in priests (and merchants, thanks to the Numa shrine) if I really wanted to devote building slots. I could, hypothetically, have devoted 3 building slots to unity production on each planet. At that point, you wonder if consecrating worlds is better than just colonizing the damn planets and putting unity buildings on them.

yes, 3 consecrate worlds you havent colonized. When you start colonize they still be consecrated, and can consecrate some other worlds.
Imho the numa shrine is pretty good. Together with byzantine bureaucrazy and the perk, I have plenty amenities everywhere. Also I maxed the -housing need by 35% down to 65%, so less clerks, less admin malus from districts.

Even if you only consecrate a non Gaia World you can get the best effect as "Holy World". So if there are some <60% worlds and you get lucky with the roll you have three holy worlds you wouldn't colonize in the next few decades anyway, giving you a good bonus.

IMO the only reason to pick this perk is if you start next to some holy worlds from the spiritualist FE. Honestly if I run into a regular gaia world I am just going to colonize it.
You can still get a pretty good bonus from non-Gaia worlds, I like consecrating small worlds with maluses that I'm not going to colonize early or even later, like a small world with titanic life that is not going to have more than a handful of districts, of something with very low habitability. But I play tall so I don't mind having uncolonized planets for a long time.

Later in the game when wormholes activate I'll try and get the systems with the FE holy worlds.

There is actually some randomness on application of the decision and it re-rolls if you redo the same planet. Gaia planets always get a high roll, maybe even forced top roll. Tomb worlds are definitely penalized, maybe even forced minimum roll.

Overall I consider it a very good perk. You are going to have planets that aren't worth colonizing in your territory. 3 non-tomb worlds are going to give you enough of a bonus that the perk gives much more bonus than any other first pick.

Hive, City, uninhabitable etc. worlds can get level 1 or 2 bonus with level 1 (Profane) being most likely, Gaia always gets Holy World (4) while inhabitable worlds have random chance to get 2-4 with 3 being most likely. You can remove the consecration and apply the decision again on the same world until you get level 4 or run out of influence, too. Nice way to burn influence if you are nearing the cap.
