My game as Britain has thus far gone well. The North African campaign which began at the end of June 1940, ended officially for the British around December 29th 1940 as a resounding and complete success. Preparations made long before the outbreak of war ensured complete British dominance over the Italians in Africa.
Mussolini's plea's to Hitler for German troops to intervene in North Africa must have fallen on deaf ears. Not a single defeat befell the British troops, every battle one after the other was a British victory and an Italian defeat. The only thing now is, what to do next??
I'm considering trying to entice the Regia Maria to battle to try and remove them as a fighting force, but they are hiding in Sicily and I cannot seem to get to them. Planning any form of ground offensive against the Germans is out of the question as Barbarossa has not yet kicked off. Likewise, despite the 35 divisions I have in Africa, I feel I would need more for any form of offensive into Italy.
The Luftwaffe hasn't yet made a huge effort in the BOB. Each time they attack its only 4 sqdrns of tac bombers, which my Spitfires easily swat from the skies. They have plently of Interceptors, they just don't seem to want to use them against me. I currently have 4 SHBB under consruction with two of them due to complete in 3 months game time. I had a nasty naval battle against the Germans which cost me two of my BB's, HMS Royal Sovereign & HMS Ramillies, with the loss of KMS Tirpitz for the Germans, Bismarck is still a target of priority.
