Mmm, unless we are talking a title from a developer known for excellent QA (and there are preciously few of those around), surely if you are going to reserve time in the first place it is better to reserve time a week post launch when hotfixes and possibly a first major patch have been applied.

That way you can spend the limited time you available immediately post-launch on being intrigued by the possibilities and yearning for more rather than playing the minigame of evading and coping with bugs.

I mean, that too.

If a game comes out on Day X, dont take Day X off, take Day X+1 off.

I know so many people who will take the day of the release off, only to not have something launch until the afternoon anyways, and then take a few hours to download or a half-hour to unlock because the Steam server got slammed, and then by the time they get through the tutorial, they need dinner, and they only get a couple hours of proper time in before they need to sleep to work the following day.
