I've been playing Imperator and there are quite a few nice little things in that game that would be nice to have in HOI4. There's a lot of small but very nice quality of life things for example as well as graphical effects like burning cities. The more advanced army and navy controls are great as well.

The feeling/scale of distances the Imperator's map gives is very cool. HOI4-s world feels small and could use that effect.

Yes that is something Imperator does really well. It's because it has so many provinces and the map rotates in a certain way when you move it around. And also I think because of how nice the terrain looks.

One thing that definitely wouldn't be included is cultural POPs.

Although it might make it more strategical if there was some sort of indicator in the game on how much of a country's population is rural and how much is urban. It would allocate industrial output more realistically than just having it be based on population and overall infrastructure.
