It's been a while since I've played EUIV, so I started a new game with England. Surrendered all land in continental Europe to France, except Calais. Got the Boy in the Reeds event, maybe I won't get the WOTR after all (yay). Then, France DoW for Calais; no problem there. I just thought to myself 'hey, that's alright! I just give'em Calais and be done with it!'. After opening up the peace screen, I could believe it: with 0% warscore, using the offer tribute, they could both take Calais and force release Wales. What the hell?? I remember that the AI was a pain to negotiate early in wars because of that retarded 'length of war' modifier (what? they actually WANT to spend money, manpower, time and effort in the war? they simply can't accept it already?) but this is ridiculous. I decided to wait a while and see, and this is what I got:

With a measly 7% warscore, they can do all that I said, and force release Munster from my vassalage. So, this is basically game over for me. At the moment, they have 14% warscore against me, nothing I do will make my moronic allies and vassals ferry their troops to the continent - Scotland and Munster combined have over 18k troops - and I just got my 75% stacked army with a leader wiped in three battles; more importantly, with that warscore, they can force release Wales, Cornwall and remove everyone from my vassalage. I can't see any way out of this.
After all the rage settled, I noticed the issues I had with this scenario:
First of all, why the severely different warscore measurement for the AI? I started a France game just to see and nothing changed: I still need two stupid wars to reclaim my LAWFUL territory in the continent. After I take a single province after demolishing the english armies and conquering every province they have that borders me (+ Calais, that my vassals sieged). Not only that, but the second war was a reconquest one, that shouldn't be a pain in the ass to win.
The counting of armies that appears in the war diplomacy screen showed 40k troops for France and over 70k to me. I did my best to try and find all those guys on my side, but they're nowhere to be found: if i add up my troops and all my allies, that is not even close to what's actually fighting this war. But that doesn't even matter, because even if Scotland had the damned Golden Horde sitting in their lap, they'd just stand like useless bastards in London until the damned game is over - meanwhile, Castille and other can ferry their blasted troops all the way to Japan if they have to, even if it's just to drop a miserable 1k dumbass there.
And lastly, have this been this way all along? I didn't got any of this BS right after launch. Warscores made sense and wars were fun, it didn't matter if you lost them or not. I feel like I'm playing Vae Victis all over again.
