Seriously, how is it possible?
Makuria is shia.
Mamluks are sunni.
Alodia is coptic.
How can Makuria get PU over Alodia?
Why there's succession war between muslims?
What is going on?

It's not a bug. Muslim countries can lead PUs. Any religion can lead PUs, but only Christians can ever become the junior partner of a PU.

The thing is just that it usually doesn't happen because Christians cannot marry non-Christians which also means that they rarely share dynasties. Now, there are two ways I'm aware of that can make them share dynasties:

1. If country A converts to another religion while they already have the same dynasty as country B

2. If "a local noble succeeds to the throne" in a country, there will be a new dynasty and it's entirely possible that this dynasty already exists in another country of the same culture

There's some weirdness with rivals being able to go to war to contest personal unions on a ruler's death. That can also allow a republic to lead a personal union.

this happened also when monastic orders could get non christian 'dynasties' like osmanoglu with their hochmeisters. they then secularized while having osmanoglu, and fell in union under ottomans.

that got fixed; the dynasty list got reduced to christians.

seems with last dlc, the developers didn't take into account that mamluks can assign slave king from christian regions to south (right? never tried mamluks and their dynasty system yet) and then be eglible to contest a union due to sharing dynasty.

but in all honesty, if mamluks isn't coptic, then this looks weird.

i never even KNEW a non christian can contest unions if sharing dynasty with an heirless same dynasty christian nation.

tha mamluks are the attacker in this succession war, which kind of confuses me.
