Paradox, paradox, paradox...

what the ef have you done with the trade?! Why stupid loosers from Spain/Castile and Portugal have massive trade power in Caribbean node even though they have NO PROVINCES AT ALL. I have 7 provinces as Russia and still I'm 3rd higher trade share. Thats just idiotic and ridiculous what you did. And more over, its not fair. Why do you have to break something with every patch?!

Someone please tell me how to make it right , so they won't have any free trade power!!!

Same goes with England in Chesapeake node.

And what is more funny - because they don't have any core province there, they are too far from that trade node and they shouldn't even have 0.01 trade power. But they have 45% of the share -_-

Three things to say:
- Trinidad looks pretty Spanish to me.
- You aren't exactly spamming the Caribbean with light ships, and why are you collecting trade from the Caribbean instead of steering it? Is it not possible to transfer it downstream to Russia?
- Do Spain or Portugal have any provinces in the other South American trade nodes that might somehow be influencing trade in the Caribbean?

I am by no means any good at trade in EUIV, but it's not quite as "OHMYGOD CASTILE AND PORTUGAL HAVE NO PROVINCES WHY ARE THEY STEALING ALL MY MONEY" as it first looks.

Yeah you get -50% to your tradepower for collecting in a node that isn't your home node. Also, looks like they do have provinces. And finally, its because trade power propagation from having trade power in a node downstream is massive this patch. They can literraly dominate trade everywhere in the world just from all the trade power they get in Sevilla and if they take Cape.

The problem is what has been brought up time and again. Trade propagation is annoyingly high and doesn't even take into consideration knowledge of the trade node (see Japan/etc stealing trade from Mexico).

And then, the trade propagation numbers get multiplied by the %. Which means a large fleet at home soaks all of the trade down stream, rather than needing lands and/or fleets there to get it.

The most obvious solution is to require either provincial or fleet based trade before propogation is allowed. Even then, don't multiply the propogation, just add it after the local trade numbers are done.

You can see how the trade propogation is messed up when you look at the trade power of Castile in that image. They have 1.2 provincial trade power but 54.2 overall trade power. Same goes for portugals lack of local trade.

-one province. ONE. And its a 30% colony, not a core province, while I have like 7 of them. And Portugal? No provinces and still massive trade power :/
-I'm not collecting it for money but for cotton bonus.
-no, they have provinces in Africa. The Spanish trinidad is the only province they have in SA

They don't have any provinces (except one colony), they don't have trade range to it yet, they don't have light ships protecting it, while I have all of it, and still I'm 3rd... yeah, that is really fair :/

Sink Castile's fleet in Seville, that way less TP will be propagated to Caribbean.

LOL something about this post just screams, " I LOVE TAKING THE BIG Paradox, PLEASE GIVE ME MORE!!"

now when i say this i mean it only that i respect the person that made the post and i would never insult them.

Trade power propagates to down stream nodes that feed into it. Portugal and Spain have trade power in Sevilla and the Caribbean flows to it so they get trade power propagated to it.
Currently the amount propagated is widely believed to be too much.

Even with the too-massive trade propogation happening there is no way that trade from the Caribbean gets to Russia. Either it goes directly to the end nodes at Sevilla and Bordeaux or it gets routed through Chesepeake to the end node at the English Channel. Thus you are only ever going to get trade by collecting there with the -50% malus that comes with it. In short, you should be colonizing Siberia instead of the Caribbean if you are interested in trade income.

Unless, of course, you work your way into Orkney/Scotland from your standard conquests in Scandinavia, allowing you access to simple conquest of England outright. I'm not sure you'd want to move trade capitol there though.

Russia in carribean? Isnt it a waste of time? Its like portugal and spain colonizing USA and Canada, there is no way to route money in sevilla from cheasepeake or st. Lawrence
