What tags to choose?

So, there are several of us who are playing an MP Crusader Kings game, and when we reach 1419, we will convert to EU2 and continue the struggle for supremacy in Europe. (This will be done, incidentally, using my converter, linked in my sig, rather than the official one.) Now, naturally the CK map is considerably a-historical. In particular, Norway (me) rather than Denmark dominates the Baltic; Poland and Hungary both stretch far into Russia; Byz, although much weakened, is not a one-province minor; there is a strong Kingdom of Jerusalem, and the Middle East is catholic all over; both Italy and Spain are unified; and Germany has been partitioned by its neighbours. (There are some screenies in the 'Great Game' AAR linked in my sig.)

Now, we have agreed in principle that those people playing nations which do not get many events in EU2, eg Norway (exactly one event : Be annexed, or continue playing with major stab losses! Thank you kindly...) will instead be allowed to convert to a more-or-less related nation that does get some events. So the question is, as Norway, should I go for Sweden with its cool leaders, or Denmark with the Sound due and good admirals?

It is possible, though not yet decided, that we will be using MyMap and/or the AGCEEP events, so advice from all perspectives is welcome.

Caveat: I have no MP experience. What follows are my reactions as an experienced SP player.

IMHO Sweden's benefits far outweigh Denmark's in the vanilla game, both with leaders and events.

Playing a converted CK game, the EU2 historical events are likely to be completely nonsensical. They would amount to arbitrary gifts or penalties, sometimes very large ones, given to this or that nation with no foundation whatsoever in the actual game situation. Of course this can be a problem with any EU2 game, but in your case you're already starting EU2 with a history far different from the standard one.

As has been pointed out repeatedly by Peter Ebbesen Swedish events > Danish events. On top of that it gets very good leaders.

If you want to be strong early choose Denmark. The COT and the tax raises are nice, but if you want to win in the end after a long campaign go for Sweden.

Well, I dunno - it's an MP game, so the long haul is important, but a bad early game can cripple you. And also the initial setup is nowhere near the historical one : I'm going to be reasonably strong almost no matter what I do, since I rule Scandinavia, northern Germany, and large swathes of Russia. Events are just a nice bonus. So I guess it's Sweden, then.

Yup, the Swedish leaders are simply the best advantage that any scandanvian country gets. Not to mention the fact their monarchs (after the first 100 years) are pretty damn awesome as well.

Well, using my converter you get monarchs based on your CK dynasty, not the historical ones. So that's not an advantage. But Swedish leaders, yum.

Makes much more sense, really... possibly give everyone a few "points" to spend on benefits each session.

That said, if you insist on "historical" events, go with Sweden, definately.

And KoM - do ROTW countries, by chance, too get generated monarchs?
I for one wouldn't like to stick with chinese average 3/3/3 pattern when you all have at least 50% better monarchs than Europe historically had, not even talking about them being better than Chinese by default.

Erhmm.. I did read the first post, I don't know how KoM's converter modle COTs but he might not get one in his domain. But an extra cot with 60 ducats a year from the start is pretty good early on, no?
