I imagine that an Easy Mode starting system could be created by creating a custom starting system consisting of a ringworld, a Gaia world and a bunch of other rocks and gas giants on which bases can be built.
While others have pointed out its presence in the first blorg stream, I actually remembered it being brought to attention in one of the Youtuber's video as well. However, my memory was probably playing tricks on me since I cannot find the video any more. What sources say this? The only thing I've heard is that we are able to choose our home planet's type and name, nothing else.
While I can understand that sentiment and agree to it to a degree, I think that at least some pre-set options or preference should be there for players who want it, either for mechanical reasons or for flavouring reasons. I mean, many probably would want to start on the small rock called Sol III even if it was not the most optimal starting position in terms of game-play, and some might want to opt for other known systems, either ones based on what we could piece together like Gliese 667 or fictional one like something based on 40 Eridani.I don't think we'll be able to choose our starting system very carefully. It seems to be characteristic for space 4x games that your start is random. More interesting that way too. Otherwise people would just end up always choosing similar starts.

Do you have a favourite thing in space that you'd like me to cover?
