Use Of Racial Epithets Is Not Acceptable And Will Result In An Infractions Every Time
In this Byz game I'm playing I just won a war against otthomans(100%), I took their capitol(36 development) and 6 of their forts(they got only 1 left this way, and not even on sea) but I went over 100% overexentsion(104%), I wanna be quick as possible conquering their lands and now and opportunity showed....
Right after my conquest war they went straight to georgia, whose independence is guaranted by me, and since my army is weak and my manpower is...like 0, ***removed*** does think I'm a big threat....so what should I do?
I got some rebels to deal with, nothing that a debt or 2 cannot resolve but....the core are gone in 1524(and so overextension), the war would go on to 1526 at least.....I could get another 100% war score, but I'm low on adm tech, and I'll use all the points I have left for these other cores.....should I just let the ottomans conquer Georgia or I should take advantage of this opportunity.....
Keep in mind that ottomans are sorrounded by mamlucks and Persia, and I prefer them not to attack ottomans.....they are pretty weak now without forts, if I take them other lands they will probably be crushed by one of them....

You will be stalled with coring until the end of the war, because you cannot core provinces which have a core of a country you're at war with. Can you handle several years of 104% overextension?

BTW - why guarantee Georgia in the first place? There's nothing to be gained for you. Let Ottomans conquer them, they don't have high development, they have +50% coring cost, they are different culture group and religion than Ottomans - they will gain very little by conquering them.

So I don't have to wait the 15 years truce between us to keep wrecking them, without letting mamlucks o persia attack ottomans....that's why......risky I know....but as I said is an opportunity after all, right after a war and ottomans are weak as me

. Can you handle several years of 104% overextension?

that's the point....I don't know, is there such a difference between 94% and 104%? On youtube I always see people do everything possible to not reach 100 or over....I mean once I took more than 20 provinces from Ming...the OE went to 200% and I got almost 4M of rebels among every possible type of rebel........but 100% is really that bad?

If you have the chance, Eating Georgia is a nice way to get some Mountain Forts to block the Ottomans out. Its a nice strategic area that is a pain in the ass to siege. Having the Caucuses properly defended is a HUGE bonus for Russia when fighting the Ottomans.

but 100% is really that bad?
It's not that bad, provided you can actually core those provinces right away - but in your case you will be stuck with the overextension for many years, because if you're at war with Ottomans, coring of provinces with ottoman cores will be stalled. And then, after you take more provinces in next war, you will end up with 200% OE

Having the Caucuses properly defended is a HUGE bonus for Russia when fighting the Ottomans.
For Russia, yes. But for Byzantium? Not so much. Not to mention that many players automatically delete all forts as the are pretty much useless and only cost a lot of cash to maintain.

OHHHHH....now I understand......damn....I think I'll just get my ass kicked by thousands of rebels this way....ok thank you, sadly I have to say no to this chance.....too bad

The thing is, that ottomanhs vassalized and integrated Crimea.....so they are a problem there...annezing georgia will give them half of the Black sea coast......not so nice

Either option can be good for you:
1. Go to war, but finish fast and don't take anything. This will reset you truce timer from 15 to 5 while you finish coring the land you already have [~3 years].
2. Don't go to war. Let Ottos deal with the +50% ICC and in the next war you can get that land too.

I think the 1st will serve you better.

Vote for 2nd. Let the Ottos deal with +50% ICC, then go to war with the remains of Georgia and remove their cores from Otto territory, now you can take the Georgia territory from the Ottos without ICC

If you have over 100 OE, you'll get plain bad events regularly. Also I think rebels progress faster (+20 progress instead of 10 when they gain progress)

That is better if Georgia is big, but they usually don't grow to such sizes.
Depends on how the OP's game played out.

Yes I did.....oh my god, I didn't even think about that....it just came out of the keyboard......and like when your heir dies..."oh well" I lost some prestige I think....sorry

Anyway I saw the difference between even 99% and 100% OE, the national unrest doesn't change too much, but with over 100 even after I put 100% local autonomy to the conquered provinces they rebels fired after like 6 months, instead with 99% I could even finish the cores and have some months left before they attacked....also I think it takes 1 more year(or more) to make the core with the OE over 99%

The unrest doesn't change much, but the chance of an uptick does.

Instead of sth like 18% you now get a 75% per month of it ticking up.
Which is the biggest reason to avoid OE. Whatever can revolt, will revolt.
These 20% ticks instead of 10% are just the icing on the cake and more of a niche case.
Doesn't matter much on a small scale, but gets kinda scary once you own more than a few states.

Well, when you're big and high overextension. you can get like 1.7M rebels of one type. Can't remember how many stacks those are. Took me like 10 years to clean that mess up.

Like the pop-up says; A "minor" incovenience.

Yeah, from now on I'm taking only land to 99%
Good rule of thumb, but mostly applies to smaller nations.

After a certain size it's better to take more and just release a nation before you start coring.
Though that's the point where you need to invest time in learning generic ideas, culture groups, idea sets, etcetcetc.
Rather big block to tackle. If you're only playing for fun it's probably better to stick to your rule of thumb, but if you ever feel like you want to improve you shouldn't forget that there are options.

Never treat a rule of thumb as an iron rule.

@PhoenixG
Nothing wrong with a little genocide here and there ;)

Don't remember how many province, Basicly I full annexed the pope in one war. Most likely I had some OE before I annex him

I had 50% RCC (admin ideas + horde ideas) so I cored everything in 1.5 year.
