What should I do with my ducats?

It's only 1674 and I have already over 6000 ducats that I have no use for. I don't rely on mercs since my standing army is already over its force limits. My navy is gigantic (almost 300 ships).
Most of my provinces have a manufactory. I have built in every province I own at least the first 2 buildings (if I had more monarch points I would build more). I am building colonies.
I have hired the highest possible advisors (in dip my guy is just level but admin and military advisors are level 3).
My monthly surplus is over 100 ducats.

I did not even take any ideas that boost income like trade or economic.

I am not complaining that I'm swimming in money but I would like some suggestions on things I can spend it on.

Mercs are your best bet if swimming in money. Merc attrition/casualties don't harm your war exhaustion at all, so they're great for spamming wars constantly. Only WE you get is from the length of war, blockades, etc.

Really? No war exhaustion from mercs? That's great! I am fighting Russia constantly and attrition is a pain int he ass there because it increases always my war exhaustion.


Any other ideas on what I could spend the money on?

Btw I have completed Defensive Ideas so I could spend roughly over 3000 ducts for 10 years improved fort defense (+10%). It doesn't seem to be worth it to me. In none of my games I've passed that decision yet.

Their casualties don't give WE. If you get provinces occupied, get the war goal and don't end the war, get blockaded, you can of course still get WE...but from direct merc combat and attrition you don't.

You could always just give out loans to other nations. They never pay them back so you'll normally get a free CB on them..

Edit: That's really funny! I just loaned Hungary 200 ducats for 12 months with 10% interest (If I take a loan from the bank I only have to pay a 3% interest rate per annum. Not that I need loans but 10% interest rate is just insane)

The CB doesn't make provinces cheaper or cause less AE, it can really only be used if you want a CB on a distant nations that you can't fab claim on.

More ships.

More troops.

More buildings.

Gifts to enemies of enemy.

Aside from the above, there really is not much to do with ducats. You eventually hit a point where your building construction is limited by monarch points, you eventually have more troops and ships than you can even use, and you have level 3 advisors across the board, and despite that your still rolling in hundreds of thousands of ducats. Its a known issue that large empires do not have much to spend their money on.

Oh, don't forget to toss some the way of large vassals and whatnot. AI has a field day with huge money gifts while in war.

I think I will do that. That sounds quite reasonable.

Fight another nation and give them all your money in the war reparations. Try to see how high you can push their inflation.

Why would I want to give my money to the enemy? Can inflation really cause problems? I've never had problems with inflation myself..
