1939 as Germany, i have 5000 money and not a damn thing to use it for. Another game where i just feel like annexing everyone...so i have a ridiculous ammount of money and nothing [besides the tiny bit spent on research] to do with it.

I really wish i could do something with it but i cant think of what. What could the game allow you to buy from other nations? Could you be allowed to spend some of the cash in speeding up construction of factories and such?

Im just at a loss again having piles of money and nothing to do with it.

Any ideas?

One new thing they could introduce is that Free Market nations have to spend money to build things, but they get reduced build times (as, I think, it is in game right now), whereas Command Economy nations have the already extant IC bonus but increased build times.

1. Trade money for material.
2. Diplomacy
But the fact that you have so much money means you are mismanaging your resources. Keep your consumer good slider lower so you will have more IC to devote to other projects...

I have the slider for consumer goods very low but i am still making money [that is piling up and doing nothing] also all my resources are fine, im quite good at handling my resources. The point is there is no enough to do with money.

Sure you can trade if you need to and Diplomacy isnt always needed [especially in world conquest games]

You could help your allies by influencing them towards your good sliders if you are playing as germany.

thats not a bad point either.

I was thinking though of in Hoi3 what else they could come up with to use money on.

Well a lot of games you can rush things with extra money so perhaps a button to increase research that costs say 5-10 more money than usual, or a rush production of units (like the civilisation series of games)

Thats what i was thinking, you can pay extra money to get things built faster in knights of honour for example.

Money - the oil of the economy

Good point about money.

Idea #1a

All unit purchases should cost a little money in addition to MP and IP. Personally, I think they should also require some supply.

Also, the same goes for province improvements, whether it is directly through command economies or through guaranteed loans.

Idea #1b

All IP production and MP production should require money, not unlike they need 2 Energy, 1 Steel and 1/2 Rare Metals. They could also require .1 money.

Idea #2

The basic operation of government should cost money. Effects could include dissent for not enough money - though I guess this is already sort of there. Also, one should be able to buy off dissent through populace pleasing parades and the rest. But it should not be linear.

Idea #3

Purchase of military units from neutral nations. Let us not forget how the Bush family made their fortune selling weapons to the 3rd Reich...

Idea #4a

Creating nations should cost money, not so much dissent.

Idea #4b

Making occupied provinces home provinces (improving IC and MP production). This requires enormous PR and local government changes, but it can be done... This should cost money. Lots of it.

Idea #5

Revamped technology. The idea here is basically that you can get all of your tech teams working if you have the funds. They can team together on your projects to maximize their specialties on the various technologies. In fact, one should be able to hire neutral nation tech teams as well!! Or at least allied ones.

Idea #5b

Buy foreign tech teams and companies. Offer them a deal that is too good to pass off.

All in all, just about everything should cost some money. Because money is like Energy, only it measures human motivation and output.

I like your ideas MaoMao, THAT is what i was meaning. Money should have more function in the game.
