You know, my two cents on the Magna Mundi thing is that they were shamelessly advertising everywhere they could when they were just a mod, claiming that they were better than the rest of the mods, even though, to tell the truth, it looked like a micromanaging unfun mess.
I didn't care until it started getting outrageous, and when I saw "Magna Mundi" under one of the forums, I groaned because I knew that even though advertising would drop here, it would be WORSE when it did happen.

I prefer vanilla, but I also consider 'vanilla' the most recent patch. So I salute the modding community for their efforts on both fronts.
If you think they're shamelessly plugging their efforts, well, I don't see any ethics violations going on.
Consider also the amount of game modding that goes into drawing a better nipple.

I reccomend WWM to anyone wanting a different game.

It's funny how you manage to come off just as arrogant as you think they are in this comment of yours.
God there's too much trolling on these boards recently...
as soon as there's a gameplay question thread with questions like 'how do i get more money' or 'too easy' 'too hard' there's usually a followup comment on how mm is way more awesome-something related or not to the question or comment.
I'm not arrogant in just noticing that, and i usually ignore the promotions but sometimes it just annoys me. it's a mod. now it got separated as a new game. there are subforums and now a different forum for discussing that game/mod. when i wanted more flavour i went to the mod subforum and read about what different mods offered and chose the ones that promised to compensate what i thought the game was lacking in.
And if mm is so mindboggling awesome and 3 googol times harder than vanillas hardest of the hard then it really shouldn't be promoted on new players and people that have basic gameplay questions.
And by definition i'm acctually feeding the trolls with such remarks.
I was actually referring to your derogatory remarks about mac users (like me).

ah. if you consider yourself different enough to emphasise which operating system you use and how that makes you special or better, then i stand by my arrogance. apple products are nice and surely better in some aspects than the competitions, but the advertising is what provokes derogatory remarks. same as mm advertising here. and that was the whole point. the in-your-face attitude that is bothersome.
I like putting coke on my chocolate ice, vanilla is just to plain for me. But i do like vanilla ice cream and jam on my waffle or apple pie.
Considering I was sleeping when you posted this, I would say I was very relaxed.

Yes, the thread's off-topic; yes, for many unaffected people who could care less either way it's pointless; yes, it's gotten a bit flame-y around the edges.
But none of those reasons are good enough to lock a thread... just ignore it if it bothers you--or don't ignore it. Up to you
