Same here! At last I will able to play a game where I don't have to start from Calais for my reconquest of France. 1422 will be a very tempting starting date.

And of course I'm a complete nut where the Byzantine (or Roman as we should call it) Empire is concerned. It's fall was a tragedy I will try to avert with all energy.

The second will be Bohemia...1399 - reign of Wenceslaus IV Roman Emperor. 20 years before glorious Hussite revolution - does anybody apart from Czechs know that pioneers of firearms were Hussites? They didn't have enough horses and armors to build heavy cavalry, which those despicable crusaders had. So they invented houfnice and pistols (Czech word píšťala - means pipe).

Denmark, my own country, but as others mentioned, it will be very interesting to see missions for Denmark, and for Sweden as well.

And Spain through Castille. As others said, Spain will be the perfect subject to test the new features with.

I hope the Bohemians get a couple of unique units around the start of the game to represent the Hussite forces. Just high firepower gunpowder units & that sort of thing. Shouldn't be too hard to add.

I don't think Paradox will do that much for Bohemia. But personally I think the Hussite Wars could be a grand example of the new rebel system.

It would be correct historic if the Hussites get good tech and firepower units. A czech culture unit named *-* with high firepower, should be easy and would be perfect to have in the game.

Mandead, you seem quite the expert on England. How is Englands position in the HYW in 1399? Agincourt is in 1415 right? When will England be strongest in France, and how much will they control at that time?

I hate to jump in for Mandead but the greatest extent of English territorial control was 1429. However, it would probably be far better to start the day before Henry V's historical death and make sure he boils his drinking water this time.

Definitely Byzantium. I just wonder what tech group will it be in. Most probably Eastern, because in Byzantium even word "Latin" is banned...

But if they are Eastern, they will suffer 0,9 tech modifier. It would be very harsh and humiliating for Byzantium to "latinize" (event Waves of influence).

This raises a very interesting problem for the Magna Mundi team. If Byzantium doesn't fall, and it might not, all those lovingly scripted "secular humanism" and "spread of the renaissance" events will have to be reconsidered, royally screwing with the reformation.

Although I am not Mandead I think I might be able to answer your question. In 1399 I suppose England should be in controle of Gascony (basically the French coast towards the bay of Biscay).

For the strongest position of England in France I would have two contenders:

1422 (the death year of Henry V):

And 1429 (the highpoint of the Anglo-Burgundian push towards southern France):

I hope this gives you a clearer picture.
