What mods are you planning?

I loved the modability of EU3. Some of what I did:
Unifying Great Britain under Scotland. The flag if this occurred would be the Union Flag but with St. Andrew's Cross in front of St. George's Cross.
Recreation of the Byzantine Empire
Kingdom of Jerusalem

I'd like to say that at least one of these triggered but of course none of them did.

I also made a California Republic that was interesting but I think I made it too dependent on gold and inflation was a killer. In addition to the ones above, for family history reasons I plan on making an Alsace-Lorraine province and see if I can thread my way between Germany and France.

What mods are you anticipating making for your personal entertainment?

Well a map mod obviously, the map is just atrocious. I simply can't play France if I know that Rhine won't be my border on the map.. and stuff like that.

I also plan on adding many what if countries. eg I finished the flag for a Breto-Gallo-Dutch monstrosity

With that exclamation of horror out of the way, I'll say that I'll leave most of the modding of vanilla EUIV to others. I, however, am in the planning stages for a total conversion project .

I've got two things I wish to do so far.

1. Turn NIs into something generic. I'm not entirely sure how to do it yet, but I will open up certain mechanics for all nations.
2. Ambitions. Turn the mission system around so it works towards an ambition you have picked. Thus you will only get conquest, rival, etc. missions within a certain region. If you pick Dominium maris baltici you will only get missions within the Baltic. When you have fulfilled your ambition you will get a reward, something a little bit bigger than your regular mission. Currently I am considering if you are to be able to have two ambitions at the same time (peaceful & conquerer), we'll see.

If a community graphic mod project exists, I would like to be part of it. I think such an undertaking would require a team.

I would also like to try a mod of the terrain.

And if need be (ie if India is still bad in EUIV) I'll start on a bigger game-balance project.

If we could allow for different army types being out their, than my work on Azeroth Mod is still going strong, (all i did so far was map on Photoshop/Paint damn Photoshop for making it blur when i need strict colors)

I will probably jump on the Wallain/Vishaing bandwagon for a generic, more historical approach to Ideas and Traditions. I really dislike the faux-historical current system, but I've made it clear enough in other places.

As always, im probably gonna start adding a few things here and there in Russia (to actually get Russia to form in game, like ever?), and before i know it, it will be a mod that adds over 1000 new provinces all over the world, and it will be MPM all over again.

When i think about how much time i threw into modding EU3, im scared. Cant wait to get my hand on EU4.

Since Japan is well divided (from some SSs), I am happy that I don't have to create a Japan mod for EU IV. Although I would gladly help other forumites who want to improve Asian regions.
