Ignoring the famous ones like Eridani Light Horse and Wolf's Dragoons, I think the Lone Wolves regiment draws me in the most. So many possibilities and story arcs to be had with such a merc unit as the Lone Wolves. They really epitomize the pack mentality as they are a hodgepodge of small periphery based mercenary units. A real mixed bag of misfits and renegades. They are headed by an elite mech company known as The Committee, which handles all contracts. In 3025, they are veteran in status and consist of 17 smaller units, in addition to The Committee. They participated in the Galtor Campaign on the side of the Federated Suns, fighting well and fiercely, especially in the defense of New Derry...

Make me a +1 for the Lone Wolves. As he said it's roughly a regiment sized unit composed of smaller units and even individual pilots who sign on together. They are actually paid on a day to day basis, and accept missions on the same basis. Any individual can at anytime choose to just sit out a day. And yet the trashed 2 or 3 Combine units on Galtor.

I have a soft spot in my heart for the Knights of St Cameron. They will actually work for free if the cause is noble enough. Bad economics, cool idea.
