It's a no brainer! POLAND!!!!

I've been waiting ever since I got my first 'proper' computer back in 1986, the Amstrad CPC6128, for a wargame which had my original nation as a playable option! Especially one which allowed the Poles to redress historical reality and RULE ZE WORLD!!! (Insert maniacal laughter here)

I figure that I will play like this:

France (to learn the game)
England (to be a colonial power)
Nederland (as per Oranje's patch)
Russia (so I can try to conquer a lot)
Spain (to conquer the new world)

The list, of course, may change once I get the came. :)

First and foremost: Denmark. We definitely need to expand to the Iberian peninsula, and I am gonna do it!

Then one of the German minors, Hesse, Saxony or something like that. I like the idea of being completely surrounded by other powers, thus making diplomacy pretty damn neccesary.

Two countries (two playable countries, anyway) facinate me.
I absolutely will have to play England, first to conquer and pacify Scotland, then to populate and hold onto North America, as early in the game as possible.
Secondly, I want to play as Russia, primarily to see just what kind of challenge I'd have colonizing Siberia, and solidifying my Western border.

When I'm finished with my 'Holy Ottoman Empire' GC I'm tempted to try the Mogul kingdom. But probably I'll try some major nation with naval power first, maybe Portugal, because right now I'm frustrated somewhat by getting no explorers and conquistadors.

For me it has to be Sweden as the major and I think one of the Italian city states, genoa or venice, would be challengeing, whichever one it is my goal is to make sure the british empire never happens, cant help it I am Irish.

Originally posted by Edmund Black Adder:
Personally, I will try Knights of St John or the Golden Horde, because I have never played them in a game before.

Does the game give you any background on the power you play with.

For those of You, who plan to play one of the Khanates: Be sure to get the 'Improved GC'. I have fixed many things concerning the Khanates there, e.g. diplomatical relations and known provinces.
I give You an example: Historically, the principal foes of the Horde were Russia and Crimea around 1492. But in the original GC the Horde cannot see farther than the tips of their toes - they even don´t KNOW of Russia and Crimea! This (and many other things) are fixed in the IGC, so that playing a Khanate is now definitely more fun. :)
