Got into CK1 via a Let's Play on Something Awful, started looking around for other Paradox games and noticed they had just released a brand new game called 'Europa Universalis 3'.

(First time I played CK1 I quit almost immediately because it wasn't turn-based and didn't have tactical battles. Then I decided to go back and give it a real chance. Good thing I did!)

Saw a review (or was it an ad?) of EU1 in a Swedish gaming magazine and remembered it. A lot of time later, found EU2 in a game store and bought it. Remember playing 10 hours straight on my first session as Sweden and going to school completely tired the next morning.

I read a review on EU2 in a local PC Games magazine (Igromania, in Russian, if anyone is interested), so I asked my parents for the game as my birthday present. But learning the game mechanics was really painful, because I was very young and inexperienced gamer without access to the internet that time. Only at the time of EU3 a finally managed to fight through all the tooltips and compose a solid understanding how the things work.
