What Just Happened (Colonies vs Natives again)

I am absolutely confused about what just happened. I had state, 4 fully cored provinces in Louisiana.
The Choctaw Federation now blue OPM (3) was that big green blob when they attacked my East Coast colony. I enforced peace, joined the war, got trashed by 100k natives doom stack with one tech above me. They occupied my 4 provinces and then some voodoo magic happens. The Choctaw Federation became OPM in my former province and my province nr4 disappeared. I am fighting even more natives now that have entire mexico (because Spain colony was trashed) Louisiana and West Coast.

So what just happend with my 2 provinces (nr.3 and 4)?

I don't have the exact reason but it goes something like this:

If these provinces were previously tribal land by a federation member and that federation unified (or whatever it's called) they gain all tribal land as cores even if they belong to another nation. It's a bug.

There should be a couple of reports on the bug forum about that stuff.

As we have been seeing on this forum for the past months, and will continue to see for the next few months until 1.34 comes out, natives are bugged and you are best off turning off Conquest of Paradise before you start your next campaign.

What are the negatives of disabling CoP?

If you are going to play a native: All your special mechanics are gone.
If you are anyone else in SP: No Random New World. That's it.

I don't know if playing as someone else's colonial nation in MP is tied to CoP, that might be one other thing.

Tribal land is bugged, federation's can get your land for free while forming.
