the new air and production are going to be amazing, i cant wait to see the mods that come out like specific infantry equipment so you can make dedicated assault infantry or defense and all the other options that i cant even imagine

I realy like all the new features. The factories,the focus tree,the battleplans,the tech tree.The feature that makes me exited for this game is that you can capture equipment and use it.I wanted this since hoi 2.

I would say the separation of civil factories, military factories and dockyards replacing generic IC.

Now you have to make hard choices between the three considering medium and long term production.

5. Making your own faction
6. Day and night/weather represented on the map

EDIT: also designing ships and divisions and the new battle interfaces

I like how mean and tight everything is; from research to resources to supplies and much else, it's all about hard choices and the confetti of 3 is gone. Most of all though, I like that time is now an element. For me the most pathetic and cartoonish part of 3 was that you could draw the curtains back of a morning, decide it was a good day for invasion, and be on your way by breakfast.

I liked hoi3 research system more (and my hope was that research points will be tied to some kind of infrastructure like ic on factories and it will be possible to bomb it to cripple enemy research projects)

PS and I don't understand how really works experience system , if I get battle experience using ground army will it be possible to use it for modernising air units? (I don't think it's good if it's true)

You have 3-5 research slots (you can gain some with national focuses if you don't have 5).

Techs take varying times to research and IIRC countries don't have the same starting techs levels. Also, IIRC national companies (designers) have 10% bonuses in their field of research.

As for combat experience, it's separated by arms branch: army, air, navy.

But I don't like that research slots , it was in hoi2 and I think hoi3 was great step forward when research slots were changed to new hoi3 research system, and returning research slots for me it's step backwards.

I liked the historical companies from HOI2, but not the research slots linked with IC.

They could have kept something along the lines of the HOI3 system with the historical national companies giving an additional bonus as their are now.

Also 3-5 research slots are a 33% increment (3 to 4) and a 25% increment (4 to 5). Not very flexible as research was not as contrasted as that, I would have preferred a continuum. Not ideal for modding as was the leadership you could tweak just a bit or as a small %.

new production system is a big one for me too. it also means armies dont just magically get modernised to 1940 levels the moment 1940 tech is unlocked.

i also love the reduced air micro. the airforce in HOI3 annoyed me to no end having to micromanage it constantly. Babysitting my pilots like i'm their mum
