What is wrong with my levies.

A minor disclaimer, I'm really angry right now, as a really fun campaign with my friend was destroyed because of this stuff, so forgive me if I come off as rude. I genuinely want to find a way to fix whatever this is.

My issue is with the levy reinforcement rate. For some reason I seem to be getting like 4 units a month, which if my levy is empty means I have to wait for 20 years give or take for my levies to completely fill up. This is assuming I don't get pulled into a war or need to so something else with them, which I probably will unless I'm staring at my screen for 20 years at peace. I didn't really have any upgrades to my castles expect some of the first tier ones, so not sure if thats what this is. What my friend suggested is that this might be done for realism, to add that extra flair to the mod, but I don't see to have these issues on my other campaigns.

Don't really know what else to say if any of you could help I'd love you all forever, and if this is a normal thing do any of you have any tips for making this less of an issue. Thanks! : )

How is your martial skill, are you using a skilled Marshall to Train troops, have you recently conquered the land, is there a plague in the province etc.. etc..? Many factors affect recruitment.

Maybe post a screenshot or at the very least provide basic information about your playthrough/character so we have something to go by?

I was getting 4 troops a month in a country in my capital region, being the same duchy, I had a marshal on my capital, but that didn't do much. I'm not sure what more to give you unfortunately.

Here is a picture of my current game that I'm doing alone. My character has 27 Martial and my marshal is on another province giving it only 17 a month.

Yeah, it's probably about realism. I always try and rush building a training grounds at the beginning of the game, also as your levy capacity increases more troops will be recruited, so events that increase levy capacity in peacetime are helpful in training troops faster. The marshall training troops and his event for fast recruitment are a must if your levy is empty.

Levy reinforcement rate is reduced by 75% when you raise levies. This amount is multiplied , not added, to your monthly reinforcement rate and affects all holdings that have raised levies.
