I am curious. Air cavalry seems to have much worse stats than the armored cavalry it upgrades from, while its speed only rises only one pint, from 14 to 15.
At the same time mechenized infantry and tanks of the same tier have even higher speed.

Also most if not all of the possible cavalry brigades dosn't seem to fit for air cavalry.

Because a Heli is less armored than an APC and floating in the air without any cover is way more dangerous. But its obvious that strategy games cant fully simulate and distinguish helicopter warfare tactics from "basic" land warfare.

Which goes back to the question. What's the point of researching them if they are worse?

My Suggestion would be:

1. Seperate Air Cavalry from the Cavalry Upgrade Path, let Cavalry stay as armored Cavalry or merge it with the Mechanized Infantry.
2. Make Air Cavalry faster than Armor and Mechanized Infantry,
3. Make them not have any penaltys for movement according to terrain, infrastructure and rivers.
4. Make Air Cavalry better at attacking in difficult terrain like Jungle Hills etc. than other Units are.
5. Introduce Gunship Helicopters as a brigade for air Cavalry, so you would have an brigade vor air Cavalry that makes sense and gives you nice bonuses against hard targets.

Aside from that I would suggest to merge the Upgrade Paths of the Cavalry brigade and the Armored Car brigade, as I dont see what is the Difference between the armored Cavalry and the armored Car in 1950.

This.

Modern armored cavalry is just infantry with apc and vehicles, so its mechanized infantry. With the new model to new unit type upgrade system with final patch 1.02, last non aircav cav model should become mechanized infantry. Cavalry then should totally be used to simulate aircav and its particularities in uses and tactics.
