Hi, in the last couple of years i played this game with discontinuity. Anyway, i'm still kind of noob with ck2, i have just played a couple of game in Ireland, one as christian Duchy in Spain and one as Venice. My problem is i don't have much time to play and so every time i start a new campaign there are so many new features (due to the several patch which i didn't play it), which means i have to relearn the game any time i start a new campaign.
So i have decided i want to use a single patch and i will not upgrade it.

So my question is: what is the patch more polish?

i have the dlcs: Legacy of Rome, the merchant republic (don't remember the name), Sword of Islam and Sunset Invasion (which i have never enabled). I'm tempted to buy Way of Life and Charlemagne, so if possible, i wish to play a patch which allows me to play this dlc

To be more clear, in eu4 i'm playing 1.11.4, which i find polish enough and the game overall feels complete. Now, i know there are several new good features i miss, but as for ck2 i don't have enough time to follow every change in every patch.
So what do you think?

I recommend 2.4.5. All features in this patch are quite well balanced and there are not many bug. The recent patch (2.5.2) has many new features which are great but some of them need further balance and fine tuning.

Oh, my fault. I actually thought you wanted to play as Poland.

I'd still have to ask though what part of the map do you want to play in and what kind of goal do you have?

well, i think eventually i want to play every part of the map, except Indian and Mongols. But at beginning i want start play in Europe christian (so no Norse, neither Eastern, but maybe later).
About the goals, i don't have really anyone or, better, it can vary every campaign. The game i played in Ireland i was more focused in internal affair rather in expanding. In my Spain game, i have aimed to unify the Iberia (which i did), my Venice game my goals was making lots of moneys. Eventually i want try a WC, but that's not a goal which i want to achieve in most of my campaign. I actually like a lot the management of the characters, that's why i am tempting to buy Way of Life. While i'm interested in Charlemagne for the extended timeline.

About the most recent patch, i have read a lot of complaints (which for the most part i didn't understand, due to my low comprehension of the game). That's why i asked if there is more polished patch, but i understand every patch has tons of complaints

I recommend 2.4.5. It has most balanced mechanics and has no new game-killing "features" like coatitions.

Branches prior to 2.3 (2.2-) have awful bug that was corrupting savegames making torture to play it ironman.

I agree kmh42, the current 2.5.2 is great, but needs some balancing stuff done, so I feel like the current greatness is in a bit of a limbo while we wait for the next DLC/patch. But I still think it's great, just flawed. If you want something a little more balanced, 2.4.5 is probably the way to go to enjoy all the DLC except Conclave. If you want a more classic CKII experience, 2.0.4 (last patch before India) is awesome.
