What is the definition of "Sin" in "Empire of Sin"?
Interesting question. I think it was more of a catchy title than anything else. However, diving deeper into the meaning, it probably has more to do with murder, racketeering, and general profiting off of illegal activity.

That makes sense.

"Empire of Sin" is bit more pithy than

"Empire of Illegal Activity"

;)

Going to Wikipedia (of course :) )

I think it was more of a catchy title than anything else.

More catchy than (as the Wikipedia article describes):

"Empire of immoral, selfish, shameful, harmful, or alienating actions, thoughts, or words"

"Empire of transgressions against divine law"

When looked at in such concrete (literal) terms, the thesis of the game takes on a different light.

It is in keeping with the moral tone of the time: prohibition had its roots in religious themes regarding the "sins" that "demon" alcohol could cause to happen. It was in part a backlash against the enormous social changes and upheaval caused by the First World War and in the years that followed.
