so i said i was going to give the line-up of my fleet design and composition that has served me so well that it made me say what i said.
People seem to be overlooking torpedoes.
They're extremely niche, but very effective at their role so they're in a good spot. Torpedoes can really wreck faces in the right circumstances. Also, strike craft have served me very well. If you compliment your fleet with some carrier class Cruisers, it helps out alot. I don't seem to see that much Point Defense from the AI.
I will agree about missiles, however. Sadly, they're just not very good.

Let's do it... FOR SCIENCE!Would it make a difference to the results? Yep, sure would. Though I doubt it would end in a win for the mixed fleet, it would just make the cruiser and battleship fleets take more losses.
O.0BBs and cruisers are the first to get blown up in these tests. I noticed most of the casualties I suffered were BEFORE your cruisers and BBs were destroyed, so your destroyers and corvettes were just sort of paperweights.
i assume it is because of the amount of evasion on the corvettes. Perhaps running a torpedo corvette or one with swarmer missiles and all the utility slots filled with power only might be something to attempt.Why weren't corvettes targeted? Does he not have shields on them or?
Just looked...this is not the case. If they're not targeted...even at range...it makes no sense using them whatsoever
I guess the question becomes whether or not you can load enough damage onto corvettes to give them any sort of niche, but previous testing seems to conclusively indicate NO at the end game...midgame i assume no, early game you have no other options...so
Arc Emitters thing is "no Defense". Evasion? Armor? Shields? All Skipped 100%.What about the Focused arc emitter vs lance?

Fighters/bombers dont fare well because they get picked off easily. Corvettes with high evasion would not be easily picked off...don't know if that test has been done
how does this fare vs the above fit?
