So basically, you're saying that you have no experience or knowledge about an entire (and very large) segment of gaming, which is the consoles, and is exactly what I said in my original post. Thank you.

You said that I "shouldn't be writing essays about achievements" because I haven't "been gaming very long, or simply doesn't know much about gaming". Here's the quote:

Here's the thing: you offended me. That's why I got defensive. I'm a gamer for a long time; it's an integral part of my life. I'm a history teacher, I've got two kids and, when I'm not working or expending time with my family, I'm playing games. I love talking about them and learning about them. I'm a more or less active member of a bunch of gaming forums, mostly RPG and strategy. I don't know everything, of course, but I know my way around in most gaming communities. And I simply hate when people go out of their way to offend others just to show off. Just to feel good about themselves. And that's just what you did. Frankly, I couldn't care less about what you think of me. But I care a LOT about what you say to me or about me in a community that I like a LOT. I'm not affraid of looking like a moron, I often do moronic things (like buying SC5, that was beyond stupid), since I'm not friggin perfect. You can think whatever you want of me. But I'll not stand idly as you deride my comments just to look smarter. I'm sure you can do better than that and that I deserve more than that.

We expect the insane achievements to be done by 0.01% of the players.

But it's already beyond that, right? How are these percentages on Steam?

How insane is for You saving Byzantium and restoring it to... Let's say 395 borders? Without cheating of course. In some 200 years.

Ok- saving Byzantium was possible even in 1453. But I was able to recover 1/3 of Anatolia and 1/3 of Balkans in 30-40 years, converting these lands and changing their culture. I know that there are people who can do better. I don't see how under current conditions You could actually prevent player from doing that (of course apart from Ottomans DOWing Byzantium on day 1). EU could really use some features that'd consume my time (in game that is), and yet be interesting and fitting for ruler. In Vicky2 I felt it was much, much harder to accomplish conquests (because it usually also meant getting whole bunch of unhappy natives), rebels actually had somehow justification (ideology, nationality, GROWING discontent). In EU gameplay is pretty flat. I still like that- granted, but there's no "background" for all I do. I can stay away from building anything (and I'd do it, but I'd have too much cash ;) ) and just conquer everything... And everything would stay the same.

That's after % of players who used the old mission exploits or similar exploits as DDRJake. If memory edit was common we would see way higher %.
As it is, I believe WC is around 0.03% already. There's no telling how many are legit or mem edited/Steam Achievement Manager'd, but its already higher than the expected.

And over what time frame? Over the next year? Or over the support life of the product (aka, until EU5 comes out)?

I am curious to know how many people that includes. I only know of two people that have done WC and only one that has done Three Mountains. It seems a bit inconsistent to me that WC and Three Mountains are both supposed to have a 0.01% number. Three Mountains should be an order of magnitude if not more difficultly than doing a WC with for example, Austria.

- Norway have all the Naval Proviances?
- Spain as the emperor?
- Irish conquest of GB?

Is there somewhere that lists them out into categories?

If that's what you want then no, there will be plenty of mods that will help you paint the map.

No Spain is the emperor is considered a hard achievement and luck of the Irish a very hard achievement. They are far easier than the insane achievements indeed. They do require a set goal you want to work towards but they are by no means as hard as the insane achievements.

I have 0 chance of getting any of the insane achievements but luck of the irish and spain is the emperor are perfectly doable for a player like me, if I set my mind to it.

It is facially ridiculous to "target" the same completion rate for "conquer the world" and "conquer the world as ryukyu."

It's just a ceiling effect in categories that are hidden in script files for the game. There's nothing ridiculous about it, some category has to be the highest.

Poland into space should be much higher then 'hard.' On the final year of the game (1821) the final techs are considered 14 years ahead of time. Essentially making the techs cost 1440 points required. You need 73.5% or more tech cost reduction by the year 1821 (if before 1821 you need even more because its even further ahead of time) or else the cost of tech will be higher then the maximum amount of monarch points that are allowed to be stored. I feel this achievement is much harder because of the 1.2 changes. The changes because the removal of the -10% tech cost advisors and that monarch points can no longer reduce the ahead of time penalty. I still feel its vaguely possible if you get extremely lucky.

Poland into space should be much higher then 'hard.' On the final year of the game (1821) the final techs are considered 14 years ahead of time. Essentially making the techs cost 1440 points required. You need 73.5% or more tech cost reduction by the year 1821 (if before 1821 you need even more because its even further ahead of time) or else the cost of tech will be higher then the maximum amount of monarch points that are allowed to be stored. I feel this achievement is much harder because of the 1.2 changes. The changes because the removal of the -10% tech cost advisors and that monarch points can no longer reduce the ahead of time penalty. I still feel its vaguely possible if you get extremely lucky.

Note that each skill point of your monarch reduces the ahead of time penalty by 1 year.

Also, I've been able to easily teach 32 in all categories before the end of the game as Western nations, so it should be similarly easy with a westernized Poland, due to neighbor bonuses letting them catch up.
