I have been playing my city for a few days now, hours at a time. I CANNOT get above 50K pop. There is NO residential demand at all. it constantly goes up and down up and down in my population. No matter what I do. I have a 100% happiness, NO TRAFFIC. Every servicew is top notch. I don't get what is going on. Everything is GREAT.

I have NO CLUE at this point why I can't get more people.

Remember: Playing this since it came out, and hours at a time. My city will not go above 50K no matter what I DO.

i did just pass 90k so it's possible;) and i guess if you build industries you will get resident demand and the other way around. if the bar is on the bottom i think you have made a well balanced city.

Edit: i have no demand and i keep building new areas and i have +500 pop/week

Keep adding more industry, commercial and office zones. You may also need to wait a little bit, it seems the population goes through cycles where everyone gets old and drives down demand until a younger generation grows up.

I have plenty of parks, my land value is immaculate. I lowered taxes, and now i am losing 200 citizen a pop. I tried adding more bus routes,. now I am losing 400 citizens a pop. Anything I do to make my city better, i keep losing citizens. The minute I put my taxes back to 8% i even out again. They hate lower taxes?

Somethign is very wrong here, traffic is nearly non exsistent, everyone can get to where they are going. Services are all top notch. Cemetary services are fast. Crime is 1%. Health care is 90%. Citizen happiness is nearly 100%.

I find improving services in the city give the demand a boost. I was playing earlier, had a town of around 15k. The entire place was just low residential. I had no demand for anything.

I got bored and decided to add bus routes to help clear up the traffic, once I did this, buildings leveled up due to the buses and demand for everything jumped up.

Sounds like the Matrix where machines gave humans a perfect world but wouldn't accept it. We need misery and suffering. Sounds like the solution is to bulldoze all the nice stuff. :)

Honestly though without seeing the city it is hard to say what the issue is.

When I lower taxes, I start losing 200 people a pop. Somethig is buggy here, but no one will believe me I think. So I give up for now, I'll come back to the game in a week or so.

We cant really tell you whats wrong without some sort of screenshot. Its amazing how a single screenshot can say a 1000 words.

I've the same problem. My city is very well balanced and services and luxuries are everywhere, land value is very high, unemployment is low, traffic is low, but the population refuses to raise over 50/55k citizens, and, after a bit, it starts to drop down for no apparent reason...
If i create new jobs building commercials or offices, a bunch of low level jobs buildings (farms) go deserted, but no new people comes in.
Perhaps I should try to create a low land value zone without services.

It seems to me that the developers didn't balanced so well the immigration/emigration mechanism. A rich city with job opportunities should attract immigrants...

Also, the needs of the city continue to raise (water, electricity, garbage, cemeteries) despite the total population remains about the same.
