What is causing muslims to be so crazy good now?

In my most recent game the muslims were the most stable empire in the world and constantly growing and eventually got into a fight with me.

The emperor took the thrown as a 4 year old imbecile and there wasn't a single revolt.
Here he is as a result. All his vassals love him like they always have.
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=329468923

He grows into an adult and holy wars me and I win a plot to kill him and so a small child child takes over.
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=329468937
I have it organized by who likes him the least and this is day one of his rule because it's paused from his death event. Everyone likes this child with the lowest like at 10 like. I can't get that kind of vassal happiness day one on the throne as a glutten child ruler with a regent. It doesn't seem like he paid everyone off because the empire is over a hundred gold richer. He did borrow from the jews though but that can be a trade off for diplomacy because of the diplomacy negatives from it and since he only has 3 diplomacy his bribes aren't worth much.

What is going on with this?

Wait till you see this!

I think this is due to those Decadence Nerfs so it is easier for Muslims to stay stable.

Decadence is busted without the beta patch (a bug allows infinite straighten up demands) so decadence is de facto gone. As a result Muslims are ludicrously powerful because of invasions, free duchy revocations, conquests, and no realm division possible on succession.

I haven't played with the beta patch yet (not compatible with HIP) but it should fix the issue.

Crazy to watch the whole thing start time to 1455 and see one muslim revolt out in hispania but the main empire doing nothing but grow and change names twice.

Assuming you're playing on 2.2 and not the beta, it's because muslims can ask decadent people to shape up every 7 days due to a bug, so 0 decadence.
I'm playing the beta.

That's weird, the Abbasids I'm next to (As Iconoclast Byzantium) almost always have large scale civil war and constant rebellions (Usually in Persia/Iran), and that's usually when I strike them. They also haven't bothered expanding into Africa at all, allowing an Abbysinian Kingdom to form.

Absence of decadence is not an issue here. You can see in the screenshot that 8% kid has 56% decadence.
What's an issue is why all vassals like the kid, while they should be at like -70 to him.

I assume you know you can use mouse to hover over opinion box to see why the vassals like him so much.

I've been watching the muslim realms in my current game and Fatimids are very stable, the Sunni Persians etc are not stable at all tho. I'l take a closer look tonight, and I did just load the beta a day or two ago,

I can't help but wonder if there's a problem with musilm vassal relations. They always seem to have empires full of people who absolutly love them no matter how crap they are. It's been like this at least since the old gods.

Part of the reason I believe is that Muslims get a fairly good opinion boost towards the Caliph, though this might have changed.

I don't understand why Muslims have been designed to be not only capable of blobbing, but also being very stable with the only real threat to them being decadence. I hate to say it, but decadence as a mechanic does not work, it's poorly thought out and does not do its job. Pagans are very aggressive as well but aren't even close to being as stable as Islam, and in order to convert others and change laws they need to blob to reform their religion which results in them losing half of the benefits being a pagan gave them in the first place. Muslims don't have any of these negative traits and get ridiculous shit like technology boosts and the Hajj trait for even bigger opinion boosts. I would not be surprised if the Sayyid trait was giving opinion boosts as well.

I'm running my first beta patch game, and for what it's worth, it's currently 789 and the Caliph's dynastic decadence is at 52% and the caliphate is starting to fragment. I know 1 game isn't the best sample size but hopefully the patch fixed it.

Guys, it's insanely easy to keep Decadence low even with the beta patch. It's a real joke now.

-IF- someone becomes Decadent, they just have to Straighten him up. Most of the times, they will just accept and stop being decadent. If not, most of the times they will give free cause for imprisonment. In 300 years of playing time with the Umayyads it happened exactly 0 times that I was unable to imprison a decadent char who had refused to straighten up without tyranny malus. Zero.

Yes the Sayyid trait is giving +10 Hajaji +10 Mujabid +10 liege is Faqih +10. Mujabid is same as being crusader etc this Fatimid caliph I'm looking at has been around awhile, I'll have to recheck when new ruler.... Currently yes got zero decadence as well. But I only started playing with bête patch last night. Guess they'll be around for a while longer .

As I said unthread the Sunni Seljuk from the 1066 start are gone splintered into 4 or 5 mainly persian realms. Oops Seljuk sultan of a large Mesopotamia. well back for more research!

I think Islamic rulers get piety and prestige opinion bonuses. The strongest son is heir, so he's often landed--plus dynastic prestige. The caliph will also have Sayyid. The hajj will show up.

I think that a way to counteract those bonuses would be to give an opinion malus for high decadency. And maybe tie that malus to some technology, so that muslims are more on par to europeans in terms of stability evolution. Would also be interesting if decadence revolts destroyed all of the liege's highest tier titles so that any new caliph has to start over from scratch.
