Like most so far, my favourite is getting the impression that a Withdraw is in order, but gambling with the odds and hoping/praying the RNG is with me. Succeeding a mission that was all but doomed to fail with a do-or-die last stand or sprinting (literally) to achieve the goal(s) and somehow returning to the Argo with all the mechwarriors alive (except for once, I've been playing always with Pilot Death since it was implemented).
BATTLETECH is, to me, one of those few games that actually manages to cheer me up whenever I pull a mission successfully with a skull above my own lance. :D

to get it right, you have either brought a pool to a parabolic flight or youve tried to take a bath on the ISS, wich one was it? :D

I posted into "the diversions thread" a video of water in action at the ISS. Frankly, the weird behavior mixed with other aspects of physics tend to spell a recipe for disaster for those who have no idea what they're doing.

... 'MechWarriors fill that niche pretty well :)

Dozens of attempts by Maltex over hundreds of years to overhaul the cockpit cooling system to create more elbow-room ended in failure, not only limiting Assassin pilots' time in-cockpit to half of that of other 'Mechs, but causing many to develop a lifetime of back problems." - Sarna.net: Assassin

The one with his head constantly cocked to one side, with nervous glances the opposite way? Vindicator pilot!

"Unfortunately, early models of the Vindicator suffered from a design flaw wherein the head-mounted laser created a bulge in the cockpit. More than making the space cramped for tall MechWarriors, it also interfered with the ejection propulsion system, resulting in the deaths of a number of MechWarriors when their escape pods exploded during ejection. Engineers managed to redesign the cockpit layout prior to the War of 3039, eliminating the deadly intrusion and decreasing the chance of said unfortunate malfunction."

Going onto a mission with a "what could possibly go wrong"-attitude, because it all went just too smooth lately and you were stockpiling assaults and equipment to field half a battalion if you just had the manpower, just to have your cockpit getting smashed by the last damn enemy's fist. Well, that could go wrong. Then realizing it was just your commander and none of your pilots died ;D

Also, becoming a used thunderbolt salesman, because damn things are EVERYWHERE. Should put up a sign: "T-Bolts for sale - almost new, just exploded once."
